In the past three or four years, we have seen an exodus of virile and productive Nigerian youths and their family members traveling out of the Country.

If queried, their intention of traveling out of the country is mostly based on quest for greener pastures, adequate security, better environment and 'future' for their offsprings.
All of these are quite good intentions when considered holistically.

However, on good assessment, I have seen people sacrifice their jobs, businesses or even borrow huge sums of money to realise this noble dream.

I have heard and read how vast majority of those who left their jobs, businesses and borrowed huge sums of money to travel either on the study route or job route ended up working in care homes over there (during study or after studying).

When queried, majority of them would ignore the nature of job they are doing over there but tell you about how the place is better.

Are they truly happy with the type of job they are doing over there?

Is the place truly "better" to worth the sacrifice They'll say yes.

If yes, Would they have traveled to do such jobs if £1 = #50

Obviously, Nigerias woes is their joy deep down.

Else, I doubt if anyone would love to become a care giver by making such huge financial sacrifices.
Though a noble job, but would Nigerians opt for such if given options after making the kind of sacrifices they made?

Government ain't helping matters too, i mean Nigeria's government. I Wonder how one feels comfortable seeing bright minds, hardworking youths leave the country due to poor economy.

The future looks bleak.

Government only needs to make our economy better, so much better than it is presently, in order to motivate Nigerian youths to come back, and contribute to the development of their fatherland.
it's simple, it'll happen naturally.

Nigerians, for who we are love being dignified and wouldn't trade our dignity for something small.

The standard of living in the US is going to drastically change to the negative.

Honduras and Venezuela are emptying their prisons and sending criminals to the US.

And all these are being ochestrated by the current secretary of the US Department of Home Security.

Anyone thinking of relocating permanently to the US has a rude shock awaiting him or her.

The US is edging towards communism or full blown civil war and in either case it won't be funny.

Stop this wishful thinking. Your government is too incompetent to fix Nigeria. In short, structurally, Nigeria wasn't designed to attain greatness.

Funnily enough, people think that leadership is easy. Leadership is serious business! Even those who couldn't make something out of their lives come on social media to say that leadership is no rocket science! Creating jobs is hard; putting your economy on the pathway of success is even harder.

As far as tribalism and religious fanaticism continue to define who we are in this country, every president will be worse than his predecessor and Nigeria will never get any better.

Nobody should discourage anyone from leaving Nigeria because the vast majority of those who left Nigeria are more successful than those who are not.

However, the only downside of leaving this country totally is losing your lineage to the west. When we marry, we don't just marry to have kids. Instead, we start an entire generation. If you relocate, you lose your lineage because chances are that your children will drop your name. That way, your entire generation is lost because they will never come back to Nigeria again.

This is how people keep deceiving themselves. Since 1980 we have heard "Nigeria go better ... Andrew, no travel oooo, Nigeria go better".
44 years after, Nigeria keeps getting worse. Only thieves, criminals, scammers and fraudsters thrive in Nigeria. Even politicians are now using 7 security men each and guard their homes with security men. In the 80s we drove Ghanians, now we run to Ghana and SA. Just wait in another 15 years, people will start selling their children to feed. With your only source of revenue, oil 90% mortgaged for and countries developing electric cars in10 years oil will become like coal. With bandits ravaging the north, kidnappers down South, soon even Somalia will refuse you Visa.
As for the people you say that they are abroad doing care givers job, go and check how much they remit to Nigeria annually. These "care givers" as you call them remittance annually will soon exceeds Nigeria oil sales and indeed your federal budget. With few millions sustaining the forex need of over 200 millions should tell you something is wrong. Without diaspora remittance $1 would be N10000.

We are in 2024, you have no light, no good hospitals, you import even toothpick and matches from China. Now we import food and you are hoping on Nigeria. Your father that did not japa when he had the opportunity, is he doing better than his mates that did when they were young? Go and check. I hope when you get old, your children will not look at you and spit on you for not making their future better.

95% of your politicians have homes abroad and have their children live and school there. E get why.

Use your brain. In any case, japa is not for the poor, There is a saying that "when you cannot afford something, you give it a bad name and say it is a waste" just like someone would say how can I spend millions to buy a car when I can use BRT. Give him the money for the car he would jump at it.

Can you point us to one area that the governors and politicians you elected are doing better than others ?

This hogwash talk of tribalism without showing us one reason why you should elect one of your failed governors is getting tiresome.

Name one politician from your region that is better than Tinubu , Wike, Duke , Lamido.

No other Nigerian would have done worse than Buhari, except Bola Tinubu. Even Orji would have out performed Buhari. Go and read history. Buhari did not pass any military exams. He was given "let my people go" on the back of federal character. Even IBB attested to that. Tinubu also could not construct a single road in 8 years as governor of the richest state in Nigeria. Even Buba Marwa that was military administrator for few years had landmarks developmental projects in his name Tinubu spent 8 years with not one Kilometer of road, no housing estate, no hospital, nothing. Now, he has overtaken Buhari as the worst president Nigeria ever produced
