Tinubu Told To Borrow $30bn From IMF Over Economic Hardship by Hawkersv: 1:59pm On Mar 06
Kingsley Moghalu, the former Deputy Governor (Financial Stability) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has recommended that the federal government explore the option of securing a long-term stabilization loan ranging from $20-30 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Speaking at the 16th Edition of the LEADERSHIP Annual Conference and Awards in Abuja, Moghalu highlighted the potential of the IMF as a catalyst for sustained economic growth, acknowledging the need for a thorough assessment of the associated benefits and drawbacks.

Furthermore, Moghalu stressed the importance of establishing a dedicated, highly professional Economic Advisory Council comprising seven experts specializing in critical sectors like agriculture, industry, labor, business, trade, fiscal policy, and development economics. He believes that such a council would provide strategic insights vital for achieving economic transformation.

Expressing concerns about the federal government's ways and means borrowings, totaling N30 trillion over the past administrations, Moghalu characterized it as a grand corruption scheme.

We don't need loans.
Cut the cost of governance and make governance more transparent.
Our politicians should stop taking our stolen funds to the overseas to hide and in returns becoming a puppet to these foreign government.

COMRADES, when I listened to Moghalu this morning on Arise Channels, I was very shocked
As long as tinubu has no blueprints for this nation, even if he borrows 50billion dollars it won't make any positive change in Nigeria
We have the money, what Nigeria needs now is a competent president

You mean the blueprints that a PDP mole wanted to secure before going to meet Atiku?

Yes Tinubu had no blueprints for that mole.

Tinubu is not a beginner in politics to fall for the deceptive probings of a mole.

Borrowing is not the problem but utilizing it. I also fear anything that is associated with IMF. IMF is the problem of Africa. They kept given loan to Africa knowing that African leaders are corrupt.

The advice is good, but they will steal more than half of the money, which would mean outright sale of the country

Whoever gave this advice to Tinubu doesn't wish him well. Continuous borrowing is not the way forward, the money will be shared and looted as always and the suffering will persist.

What Tinubu needs to borrow is sense not money
Re: Tinubu Told To Borrow $30bn From IMF Over Economic Hardship by OreMI22: 6:02pm On Mar 06
Lets make it between $50 -$100 billion! Let us take the maximum that we can get now from IMF.

Afterall, Buhari borrowed his own $21 billion and so many other Chinese loans totalling about $120 billion. We have nothing to show for it except more federal revenue being used to service the debts now that he is out of office and Tinubu has to payback his loans.

Tinubu should borrow $50 - $100 billion! Its not only Buhari that should be allowed to borrow.

Every administration should be made to pay their loans before leaving office.

Any government that cannot pay up it's loans before the expiration of his tenure should go straight to jail.

Our leaders are reckless, corrupt and wasteful.

Borrow from IMF and then send it to Europe, China and America through import of needless commodities that we should be manufacturing here in Nigeria??
