First of all, in the interest of fair disclosure, I must state that I am not an Obidient. Not because I have anything against Peter Obi as either a politician or a human being, but because think Nigeria's problems are too deeply rooted and structural to be solved by one man, no matter how well intentioned he may be.

Having said this, permit me to lay the following foundation before I ask my question:

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has just announced that in 2023 alone, over 700 companies shut down.

The number of companies and businesses in Nigeria that have become either paralysed, comatose or in the verge of collapse since 2015 is so large, that even the NBS (National Bureau of Statistics) is too frightened to put a figure on how much has been lost.

Food trucks carrying provisions from farms to markets are getting hijacked and attacked every day;

Farmers are paying taxes to Fulani Herdsmen, Boko Haram and ISWAP and become of this, many of them have chosen to drastically reduce the scale of their farming activities to just cater for themselves and their families;

Fulani Herdsmen came from nowhere in 2015 to become the 4th most dangerous terrorist organization in the world and they have been flourishing in Nigeria ever since then;

Even before the alleged "floating" of the Naira (which is a scam because the naira is still being sold at controlled prices to certain "privileged" clientele) prices of goods and services were already far beyond the reach of the average Nigerian;

We were told that we wouldn't feel the impact of fuel price devaluation because there was a saviour called Dangote Refinery which would do away with the need to refine Nigerian crude oil using scarce foreign resources. We were made to believe that Dangote's Refinery is here to save the day and we will soon be scooping refined petroleum at rock bottom prices.

So my question is: Of all the problems I have mentioned which have crippled and ruined Nigeria's economy since 2015, which specific problem is Peter Obi responsible for creating?

I would like intelligent answers to my question, but if that is too much to ask for, then I will gladly settle for an honest opinion.

Which of those problems you mentioned was Tinubu responsible for creating that Obidients who had previously criticised Peter Obi as a failed Governor, suddenly preferred him and hated Tinubu in the run up to the 2023 presidential election?

To answer your question,

Every sane mind would despise a crook who is posing as who he is not.

Why was Peter Obi regarded as the youth candidate? Was he young, or did he protect the youth from police brutality in Anambra state that had the most notorious Awkuzu SARS?

Why was he regarded as being honest or having integrity after jumping about political parties despite the previous promises he made, and then capping it off with a desperate ticket hunting that got him Labour Party ticket despite not being a member and already participated in PDP screening?

Why was he regarded as not being corrupt, despite depositing state public funds in his own bank and enjoying a growth of wealth for the bank and himself that did not exist before he was Governor? What about the fact that this corrupt soul invested state funds in a brewery that he had a stake in? Is that not a candidate for jail?

Lastly, why would a politician who as at 2013 was still so insular, clannish, and myopic to the point of boasting that he will not be found campaigning in Kano or Katsina be expecting to secure national support for his own political ambition?

Let them prop up Obi a thousand times, he will fail a thousand times in a national election.

Or is it not the same Peter Obi that moulded Ngige in APC as a Yoruba party candidate in the 2013 Anambra gubernatorial election?

The same Peter Obi who then wondered why the newly formed APC sent Nasir El Rufai to monitor elections in Anambra state, when there were Anambrarians and other SouthEasterners that he believed should have been used for such role.

His tribal political game is the best in the country, and the election results underscored that fact.

Lastly he has nothing to offer that he could not have offered Anambra state where he was regarded as wicked and visionless. His greatest achievement is that he saved public money, but it had to be in his own bank.

Many sane minds refuse to join the band wagon of the Manchurian candidate.

Muhammadu Buhari had run for the Presidency in 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011. Four times he ran for the Presidency, 4 times he lost. Guess WHO was responsible for changing Buhari’s political fortunes and foisting him on gullible Nigerians in 2015 and 2019? Do I need to mention anyone's name?

Secondly, you speak as if the practice of blindly supporting a political candidate on the basis of ethnic affinity is something peculiar to a particular group of people. Okay, let us apply that standard to you: Why did you vote for APC in 2019 and 2023 and why do you still support them now? Is it not for the same narrow ethnic reason that you are accusing Obidients of championing? Or are you going to tell us that the reason you keep voting for APC is because life for Nigerians has been improving under APC leadership?

StOla:

With all due respect, this sounds like campaigning after election and it is a sign of political, mental and emotional immaturity.

Yes, every sane mind detests hypocrisy, nobody likes a devil who is posing as an angel. But of what relevance is any of that to the horrific and pitiful existence Nigerians are living through now?

Who in the year 2024 honestly gives a damn about whether or not Peter Obi was parading himself as a fake youth candidate or whether he jumped from one political party to another?

Practically 99.9% of all Nigerian politicians can be accused of one or more of these corrupt practices, if not all of them.

Obidients lost the last general election. That is a political fact. They may not like it and they may grumble about it, but that is their right and duty as a political movement which wants to stay relevant. So it would only make sense for them to criticise the governing party and promote their candidate. That is what opposition political parties have been doing since the dawn of time.

I guess what OP is asking is, how are the online activities of Obidients/LP responsible for the economic hardships that Nigerians have been experiencing since 2015.

As far as I can see from your response, you resorted to name calling rather than answering the question.

Peter Obi is an igboman with national reach/support. Something most of them have not seen in their lifetime.

Do you expect someone that's been saying NO IGBOMAN CAN BE PRESIDENT to suddenly do a U turn?

The hatred n dislike for the igbos is not fake.
Lots of jealousy n envy attached to that hate

Peter Obi's greatest offense is that he is Igbo.

Anything I just said , I'll look God in the eye n repeat. Because I know it's the truth

Nevertheless The Igbos will still shine.

You said Tinubu didn't create any of the problems above? Didn't he claim he made Buhari president? Did you hear anytime he condemned Buhari wrong economic decisions which included his huge borrowings?

Didn't he support Buhari again in 2019 even when it was obvious that Buhari has failed?

When there was so much insecurities in the southwest by the fulani herdsmen did you hear him condem such act? Rather he asked where are the cows. But when Buhari/Emefiele monetary policy didn't favor him he spoke up in condemnation, who is deceiving who?

All the things he promised in 2015 campaign that Buhari will achieve which one did they achieve and did you hear him complain? All these just because he wants to answer the president after Buhari

Obi, the Pandora should go make his state better first before speaking gibberish! Or did he think we've forgotten the fact that he was abysmal as a governor and was also an accomplice to Madueke looting at the federal?
