Taking a critical look at this issue, how can bandits kidnap more than 200 people and march all of them into the bush amd our security forces that trace them. It's not like Kaduna state is a border town with another country, so we assume that the bandits kidnap the students and quickly crossed border into a different country.

But Kaduna state is surrounded by other states so where did the bandits disappear to.

Do you know how long it will take the bandits to coordinate and move 200 children, not even adults from the sch to the forests on foot.

How will the bandits manage to take care of them. You have a massive number of people, any aircraft can locate them due to their numbers.

If this kidnapping is not staged by those in power then there is no way the bandits would have succeeded in kidnapping the students.

Let the police start by looking by probing the politicians esp those northern elites. They will find out those who are staging this kidnapping.

When Nigerians called the Chibok kidnapping a stage managed incident, people screamed to high heavens and called the President then ineffective. Now between the last administration and now, kidnapping is now a full time industry

First off, chibok was not the only major kidnap case. Thousands of girls and others had been kidnapped. Chibok got a lot of publicity.

Also , in the months before chibok, two schools were invaded by Boko Haram and dozens of students were shot dead. That's a lot of bad publicity.

Finally , kidnapping is happening because it works for the kidnappers. Gej could not send in the army because if he did, them Boko people would kill the lot of then girls and then go out and die . Same problem we have had with all kidnap victims.

In my opinion, we need to send in the army and wipe out the kidnappers even if it means victims die. But we choose to pay them , so the scourge continues

Because people are going to die. Some of the victims are going to die. And it won't be the kidnappers Nigerians would blame..

In 2014 , there was an attempt to free a kidnapped expat in sokoto. The kidnappers killed the man as soon as they saw police.

Yes that is the game that they play.

Until we accept like the Russians do that there is going to be some collateral damage, Nigerians are going to insist on paying kidnappers.

The thing is, once Nigerians started paying the kidnappers, the die was cast. Once we started saying that the police should step aside so that we can talk to the kidnappers, and start paying them money because 'we want our loved ones to live', the issue became more problematic.

I know that...God forbid...if my loved one was kidnapped, I would cough out the cash. But at the end of the day, it is coughing out the cash that means the guy is going to kidnap again, and his next victim could be YOU and Yours.

No offense to u but in this age and time u with the right training and equipment u can conduct a rescue mission for then and rescue at least 90 percent of the abducted....what is so difficult in integrating drones into our special forces arsenal....with drones u have real time Intel....yes there might be casualties but the bandits would know that yes justice can be served to them in the bush but nope instead we turned everything into politics, which sane country would almost two hundred kids be kidnapped and is like ntin happened

KIdnapping thing is not a tribe thing anymore. Everyone is suffering.

And the reason why we have so many kidnappers is because, right from over 20 years ago, when Nigerians began paying kidnappers to free their loved ones, the thing became a business.

Even in Igbo land, ransom payment is rampant. Tell me, any criminal would take the hint and involve themselves in it. Or how about the recent case in the FCT where a whole former minister was crowdfunding money for ranson..and people were paying.?

Until Nigerians are ready to stop paying kidnappers, it will never stop.

Historically, this can be traced back to Yar Adua and Jonathan regime where they gave amnesty to Niger Delta militants who often kidnapped expats. Experts warned that Nigeria would set a precedence if they did not punish them. Obasanjo saw them as an affront and kept fighting Asari and others. Yar Adua forgave them for peace to reign. Incidentally, the same Yar Adua ordered the capture of Yusuf whom the police eventually killed in 2009 and now we have never known peace. Add to that the religious fanaticism the Northern elites like and it's now been used in the South West by tribalists. It's a good way to make people defend anything because the elites don't want your freedom.

Are u comparing Hamas to these guys common nah....Hamas is miles ahead, moreover almost all the hostages are held underground....that is a totally different rescue mission....the variables are just much....but here these guys stay in the forest....which means u can monitor them 24/7 without them knowing..... triangulate there cell signal.....and hunt them down like animals....
