Veteran R&B and Pop singer, 2Baba (formerly 2Face Idibia) has said there would have been no Nigerian Music Industry without the likes of Eedris Abdulkareem, Eddie Remedy and Tony Tetuila.

2Baba, whose African Queen put Nigerian Music Industry in the globe stated this recently in an interview.

In his words, the multi-award-winning singer said, "All I know, without REMEDIES, there won't be the Nigerian music industry of today.

"Before Remedies, Nigerians were only singing Reggae (RAS KIMONO, MANDATORS, EVI EDNA, ORITS WILIKI, etc) or we were singing Highlife (OLIVER D COK, BRIGHT CHIMEZIE, etc) or Juju Music (SIR SHINA PETERS, PASUMA WONDER, KOLINTON, BARRISTER, SALAWA ABENI, etc). These were Nigerian kinds of music, and then we listened to American Hip-hop, rap, RnB, etc.

"But all kudos to KENNIS MUSIC and REMEDIES, for daring into the Nigerian hip-hop that was widely accepted by Nigerians. Then PLANTATION BOYS copy suit.

"Many of you were small children and didn't know of this truth.

"Without EEDRIS ABDULKARIM, EDDIE REMEDY and TONY TETUILA, there would not have been the Nigerian music industry of today.

"Give honour to whom honour is due."

CONVERSEER reports that the Nigerian Music Industry has evolved with time but thanks to people like the likes mentioned above and former President Olusegun Obasanjo who prioritised the playing of Nigerian Music on all Radio Stations and Televisions in the early 2000s.
