A Chinese live streamer who spends just 3 seconds promoting each product earned $18.7 million in 7 days.

Zheng Xiangxiang, a Douyin live streamer with over 531 million followers, sold 10 million units in a week with her super-fast product showcase, as reported by 8Days.

This viral live streamer earns a staggering 100 million yuan, equivalent to S$18.7 million, in just 7 days.
What makes Xiang Xiang so special? The livestreamer, perpetually wearing a black halter dress similar to the one donned by Chinese actress Gina Jin in the film "No More Bets," is known for her deadpan expression and sped-up way of introducing products.

Honestly, if you blink, you probably would have missed the item completely.

Xiang Xiang’s live streams are recognizable by the piles of Hermès boxes in the background. While the boxes may resemble luxury brands, the products themselves mostly cost less than 10 yuan (S$1.87) each. This only makes Zheng’s achievement all the more impressive as she would have had to sell approximately ten million units in the past week to have earned the 100 million yuan.


Despite her success, Douyin wasn't thrilled and banned her for violating their terms of service,
They were said to have implemented a policy that prohibits livestreamers from advertising products with little to no information to combat those using Xiangxiang’s strategy.

Nonetheless, Xiangxiang found a new home on Kuaishou, Douyin's rival platform, and continues her speedy showcases there.
