Position Details:

Job Description


Responsibilities​
● Compliance with agreed timeliness for monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements i.e. Profit and Loss account, Balance Sheet, Year-end statements, Cash flow Analysis, Contribution margin by Model.
● Provides financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices, developing recommendations.
● Develop, implement, and monitor financial standard operating procedures and policies.
● Developing and managing financial systems/policies.
● Offering professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance.
● Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
● Liaising with other function managers to put finances and accounts in context.
● Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls.
● Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions.
● Compliance with agreed timeliness for annual budget preparation and approval.
● Responsible for Treasure activities and Bank Reconciliation.
● Completeness and accuracy of the fixed assets register in a period with no significant errors including timeliness reconciliations.
● Ensure all ledgers are reconciled and updated monthly (i.e. Creditors Ledger, Debtors Ledgers, Prepayment Accounts amongst others.)
● Develop and maintain credit control Policies and Processes.
● Manage Organization’s Tax matters and ensure compliance.
● Monitoring payment processes (Vendors, Salaries amongst others).
● Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure statutory compliance.
● Liaise with external auditors to ensure satisfactory year-end audit.

Job Title: Account Officer

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as an Account Officer located in Lagos. The Account Officer will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and performing financial analysis.
The Account Officer will also be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Assists the Head of Accounts to ensure that the company’s accounting records are well maintained.
Make a routine purchase of fuel and diesel for office use and trucks.
Regular visits to banks for company transactions.
Sort out invoices, petty cash vouchers and payment vouchers.
Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company’s ERP system
Supporting supervisory and executive staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks.
Keep a thorough record of all company charges, as well as any refunds that have been issued - disbursement and reimbursement of funds.
Keep track of any customer issues that require a refund and make sure that the refunds are issued in a timely manner.
Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel to take part.
Perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional certification (e.g. ICAN, ACCA) is a plus
Experience with financial statements and financial analysis
Strong analytical skills
Experience in finance and accounting
Excellent customer service skills
Effective communication skills.
Salary
N100,000 - N130,000 / month.
