President Bola Tinubu, it’s time to release Nnamdi Kanu. by seunmsg(m): 5:30pm On Mar 19
In the overall interest of peace, unity and national cohesion, I’m calling for the immediate and conditional release of Nnamdi Kanu. The only condition being the complete renunciation of all kinds of violent agitation for Biafra.

When Tinubu was sworn in, he inherited some political prisoners like Kanu, Sowore, Igboho etc. while Sowore and Igboho are now free, Kanu is still in detention. While I’m not a fan of Kanu and is bigoted and violent agitation, I won’t deny the fact that he’s a freedom fighter to his people.

Apart from Boko haram and other like minded terror groups, no single person has committed more heinous crimes against the country than Odumegu Ojukwu. Despite his crimes, Nigeria forgave him and granted him state pardon. We allowed him to contest for a seat in our Senate and even the president despite his history of having taken up arms against the country. Nnamdi Kanu has not done anything close to that.

Today, a lot of criminals have taken over IPOB agitation in the SE. In fact, Monday is now a compulsory holiday for everyone in that region this must stop. Mr. President should call the leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo and offer to release him to them on the condition that he will renounce all kinds of violent agitation. This is the only way to restore sanity in the SE.

PS: This is my personal opinion.

If Kanu is released, it'd be the beginning of another turbocharged secession drive. This time around, it may eventually lead to more violence never before witnessed, because he'd be coming out as a wounded lion, unafraid of anybody. Cast your mind back to when he was first released.

You said the truth. I even watched where he condemned the atrocities being committed by Ekpa boys.
Am thinking Ekpa is not working for MNK but for his own selfish gain and he has convinced many ignorant IPOB to trust him.
If the FG freed MNK, many hidden things will be open and many top Igbo leaders will be in trouble.

Igbo desire to be rid of Nigeria is beyond Kanu. With or without Kanu, if Igbo made up their mind on something, it's only a matter of time and Mr Buhari helped Igbo make up their minds so even if it takes another 100 years, Igbo are determined to exit Nigeria.

The only people who bring violence into the Biafran agitation are your security forces who like shooting and killing unarmed peaceful Biafran protesters

I don't know if you children of Lord Lugard think it is by force to be a Nigerian

That is not true. People are tired of endless agitation with no end. And Kanu this time will not violate his bail conditions. Many people are wiser now than before you can't fool them with empty promise of Biafra anymore.
I add my voice in asking for his release.

That’s why I said the condition for his release should be a complete renunciation of violent agitation. I also proposed that he should he released to Ohaneze Ndigbo elders who will give absolute guarantee that he won’t go back to violent agitation.

Kanu is an unrepentant terrorist. Release him and see verson 2 of him. He lost both parents while still in detention so nothing at stake for him. His second coming would be brutal and unforgiving.

We won’t achieve nationhood that way. We are a completely different people and we must understand our differences and be able to work together despite our differences. Killing Kanu will not solve any problem. In fact, it will create more problem. On the other hand, the government can gain some political capital and even national unity by being nice to him. He can be useful to bringing about peace in the SE.

Ojukwu took up arms against the country. The war lasted for about 3 years with over 3 million people dead. When Shagari became president, he granted him a state pardon and asked him to return to Nigeria. He contested for elections severally thereafter and remained a statesman and a voice for peace and unity till death. Tinubu can do same to Kanu. It’s time to offer him conditional peace.

Meanwhile, unrepentant fulanis jihadists, bandits and BH terrorists are still escalating violence and bloodshed to establish a caliphate Nigeria. No one advocated and gave gusto to violence and bloodshed like the Buhari that you supported throughout the 8 years of his satanic govt

It is separatists demanding for a fair, equitable and balanced federation that are terrorists to you lots. Do you ever think and asked yourself what actually led to these unending agitations by these separatists? Continue!

Hypocrite! After the Nigerian army invaded his house to kill him? Same thing the DSS did with Sunday Igboho. Let him be killed as always demanded by many of you lots.

The day he renounces the struggle, that day he will lose his popularity and become haunted.
There is alot of thing many tribes in Nigeria doesn't know about the Igbo tribe.

If you're proud, you'll have standards which you wouldn't want to go below par.
Pride[patriotism] of one's identity, is the driving forces of developed nations.
If you're proud of your heritage, you will defend it with your life.
What's a country with laws, but no pride?

Do you think Russians are living in fear because of Putin?
They are proud of mother Russia first.

Read my post very well, I never said he should renounce the struggle for Biafra or whatever he’s fighting for. I said he should renounce violent agitation. They are two different things.

The right of any people to agitate for self actualization is a fundamental right that cannot be denied. Anyone can agitate for anything. Doing it in a non violent way is the difference. Nwazurike has not denounced Biafra. He’s still an agitator but he’s free because he’s not violent in his approach.

If Nigeria could forgive Ojukwu who took up arms against the country and even allowed him to contest for President, there is nothing wrong in forgiving Kanu. He’s a bit older, more matured and more experienced now. With better discussion, we can release him get him to become useful to the country. At least, get him to push Simon Ekpa out of the Biafra movement.

I would love to take you on a trip to border communities between Anambra and Imo so that you will witness first hand the evil and devastation caused by Nnamdi Kanu and his useless struggle.

Those communities will take years to recover. I am talking of Orsumoghu, Lilu, Azia, Isseke, Ukpor, Osumenyi,, Ozubulu, Ezinifite on the Anambra side and communities like Orsu Ihiteukwa, Asa Ubierem, Awo Idemili, Amaebu, Ihitenansa, Ihite Owerri on the Imo side

The Biafra struggle wasn't violent until folks here on nairaland started rejoicing and encouraging the army to use the peaceful protesters as target practice.
See the Igbos are coming from a place of been hated already, you don't butcher people everyday and still expect them to be non-violent.

Take this to the grave.
Deep down in every true Igbo, it's better to die for an invisible Biafra than the Self acclaimed gaint of Africa.
I would love to see different nations from Nigeria flourish in peace.
