I have been wondering about this thing for long. When you bail someone from the police cells. They Will tell you to come in 3 days again or a week time to close the case or tear papers.

And if you didn't come they will start calling and threatening the person. The truth is they don't tear any paper or close anything it's just extortions. They will demand big money again from the victim to close the case. If the victim don't have the money the will rearrest him.

I need to understand why should the victim be arrested again because he or she doesn't have the money the request to close the case.

I remembered many years ago. After I paid the money they requested to tear papers the police ask me to go just like that. But I refuse told him where are the papers to close the case. He shouted at him and told them put inside cell. Just to intimidate me and causes fear. They are operating this scam for many years. It's the reason government doesn't fund the police as alot of things is happening there.

They are calling one guy to come close the case. after the boss arrested him for money issues. They just want to extort him.

It is because most Nigerians are intimidated by police and can't or don't fight for their rights.

If police are held to account before a judge in a court, they'd think twice before extorting.

Pity is, the judge would need to think twice first, and that is not often likely.

Just because you live in a country that doesn’t work doesn’t mean that it is appropriate to abuse the process. You are supposed to close a case file to indicate that the case have been concluded. Bail is just a situation that you are free from custody. Most of you equate bail to case closed.

Bail means you have regained a substantial amount of freedom to face whatever reason you were in police in the first place. Bail is not an end of case. It is the starting of legal proceedings in countries that works. They can’t bail you same day and close your case instantly. The police don’t even have a total right to close your case but we all benefits from a flawed system and still want to claim right along the line

When they bail you, the next step would have been appearing in court of competent jurisdiction or further investigation but they tell you to come back in two days. Instead of you to disappear peacefully or go back to close your case you are here misinforming others.
