The Federal Government has disclosed the identities of nine individuals and six Bureau De Change (BDC) operators who are allegedly funding terrorism in Nigeria. This release comes in response to the government's directive to publish the names of those involved in financing terrorism within the country. The Nigerian Sanctions Committee, following the directive, has made public the names of individuals and entities involved in financing terrorism in Nigeria. One notable figure among them is Tukur Mamu, a publisher based in Kaduna, known for his association with the Desert Herald Newspaper.

Details of the development were revealed by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, in an email on Tuesday night, entitled “Designation of Individuals and Entities for March 18, 2024.”Documents released the Nigerian Sanctions Committee when it met on Monday revealed that Mamu participated in the financing of terrorism by receiving and delivering ransom payments over the sum of $200,000 US in support of ISWAP terrorists for the release of hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.It further stated that one of the individuals is the suspected attacker of the St. Francis Catholic Church Owo, Ondo State on June 5, 2022, and the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja, on July 5, 2022.
