Matthew 16:28, we read Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his Kingdom”.

Is the person standing? Is the person still alive? And is there truth in this word of the Savior Jesus Christ?

To know something about this,

What every TRUE Christian know is that JESUS NEVER lied, what we know is that the bible NEVER contradicts itself, what we know is that there are people who were not meant to understand the bible, that's why Jesus Christ TAUGHT in PARABLES sometimes,
Each time after teaching in PARABLES, He will call His disciples aside and explain the PARABLES to them. He is still doing the same thing today, THIS TIME it the comforter that he sent, that is JESUS Himself, He said the comforter will teach us all THINGS, (THOSE He chose to enter of cause)
When the bible said that
""""When the trumpet sounds, THOSE THAT ARE ALIVE will meet him and the dead will come out . .......""""
This means that there will be people who will be here when he will come
When the bible also said
""""Let me tell you a great mystery, we shall not all die but we must all be changed""""""
We must also not forget that JESUS told His disciples that the end will not come until the message has been preach to all conners of the world,
We believe it has gotten to all conners of the world, we now await His coming, what is your condition?

See him preaching and acting all holy. Next thing he will be on an Islamic thread masturbating and foaming in the mouth about Islam. Don't be fooled by all this preaching and quoting scriptures, this idiot here is suffering from terrible Islamophobia. A confirmed Bigot and a Bastard , what a combination. 😂

I wish to make a contribution on the above thread but somehow i'm disallowed however there's no afterlife except for humans who did what's pleasing to God and others who also tried their best but don't know the righteousness of God!

When reading Scripture, always pay attention to context. Those who saw(visions/dreams) the Son of man coming in His Kingdom lived during the same generation as Jesus Christ's disciples. They include the person of Saul of Damascus and many other young men and women in Zion at the time--- Joel 2 vs 28 - 31. undecided

If you don't understand what a parable is, then is suggest you do some study to catch up on that. Jesus Christ also spoke plainly to His followers more than 75% of the time as any individual would have. He spoke about 30 something parables which are easily identified since they are presented by Him in story format sort of like analogies but different. If you are having trouble identifying them then create a thread so we can examine each.. undecided

1. The Bible did not say those things. Rather, Paul did and I doubt he meant what you claim. undecided
2. Again, the Bible did not say those things. Rather, Paul did and he spoke to the Jews of what it meant to be born-again — transformed from being a mere living being to becoming an eternal one like demons and angels, what Jesus Christ said will happen in this life to all those who would choose to become citizens of the Kingdom of God. undecided

3. If you scrolled up within the same context that Jesus Christ spoke those words, you would see that the end that He spoke of was the end of time the people were expecting would take place in that same generation that His disciples were a part of. That end happened around 1900 years ago. undecided

4. Yes, the Gospel was preached to the world in question at the time, not the corners of the earth as you instead assume. undecided

Yes , Paul said what I quoted and JESUS said what I quoted and they are all in the bible, when Jesus said you must be born again, He continued to say " you must be born of water and spirit" why did he add that water and spirit,
The end Jesus was talking about is the end of the present world which haven't happened yet, but which we await, when Jesus was talking to THOSE His disciples then, He is talking to every single one of His followers including us today, or are you saying that the gospel got to the ends of the world before that generation finished or are you saying that Jesus lied?
And the passages I quoted, are you saying they are not in the bible or that Paul didn't write what I said he wrote or that JESUS didn't say what I said he said?
It's not about what you said chief or what you think or what your church tells you but it's about what God and the bible said

NO,
BTW why must I creat a thread for you to examine? Let's finish examining this one first

The reason is not hidden at all; He chose to speak in Parables to obfuscate His meaning and confuse those who are confused, those who don't even realize what Parables are meant for.

2. I never said that at all so I am not certain why you are accusing me of what I never said. Look, if you don't have a clue what parables are. They are a known part of the language of story telling, you should spend time learning of them to better understand why the prophets used them and why they said Jesus Christ would equally use them. lipsrsealed

So why DID Jesus got baptized inside water? Why did He enter that river and showed us that example? Why DID he emphasize, you must be born of water?

Every time you ignore context, you end up spewing that which makes no sense.
1 Jesus left the Temple area and was walking away. But his followers came to him to show him the Temple’s buildings.
2 He asked them, “Are you looking at these buildings? The fact is, they will be destroyed. Every stone will be thrown down to the ground. Not one stone will be left on another.”
3 Later, Jesus was sitting at a place on the Mount of Olives. The followers came to be alone with him. They said, (Question#1) “Tell us when these things will happen.(Question#2) And what will happen to prepare us for your coming and the end of time?” - Matthew 24 vs 1 - 3
Clearly, the response given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, revolve around the events that took place during the same generation that His disciples were born into.
29 “Right after the trouble of those days, this will happen:‘The sun will become dark, and the moon will not give light. The stars will fall from the sky, and everything in the sky will be changed.’[c]
30 “Then there will be something in the sky that shows the Son of Man is coming. All the people of the world will cry. Everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in the sky. He will come with power and great glory.
31 He will use a loud trumpet to send his angels all aroun
32 “The fig tree teaches us a lesson: When its branches become green and soft, and new leaves begin to grow, then you know that summer is very near.
33 In the same way, when you see ALL these things happening, you will know that the time[d] is very near, already present.
34 I assure you that ALL these things will happen while some of the people of this time are still living.
35 The whole world, earth and sky, will be destroyed, but my words will last forever. - Matthew 24 vs 32 - 35

1. Jesus Christ told you He lived His life in submission to the Will of His Father; the Law of Moses was the Will of the Father in the Land, and as such Jesus Christ was meant to obey the commandments given Him by His Father. John the Baptist was the one given authority by the God of Israel to baptize the people in the Land, Jesus Christ was no exception to that rule. undecided

2. As John explained in the context of Matthew 3, Luke 2, Mark 1, and John 1, the Baptism was to make a change from following the Old Way — the Old Fountain of Living Water—, to following the New Way— the New Fountain of Living Water/Covenant, a Change. undecided

3. Did Jesus Christ mention that you are to lift a man named Paul above Him or something that you wish to raise this man above Jesus Christ in some way? Paul's letters contain less than 1% of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ written in the Gospels so I am not certain why you feel you need to raise His name when the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ Himself are in focus. undecided

If a man showed up at your door claiming to be a Jehovah's Witness, yet that man proceeded to tell you that he instead believed that what the GBs of the Jehovah's Witness faith taught were lies, all while trying to convince you that it was right for you too to become a Jehovah's witness, wouldn't you at least consider that the man was either unhinged or just a fool with no idea where his left or right is— a very confused element? undecided

Here you are convinced that what Jesus Christ said in the context of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and even Luke 21 regarding the end time He referred to in those very same contexts are lies. Even Jesus Christ's submission that everything He said was to take place within the very same generation that His followers lived in, you condemn as lies. If according to you Jesus Christ lied, then of what value or the meaning are the words of Paul when Paul said Jesus Christ was a master to him? undecided

If Paul was on the wrong path and his teachings are contrary to the teachings of Jesus, will the other disciples of Jesus work with hi? Which of the disciples of Jesus Christ challenged Paul's teachings? NONE.

1. Of course, every utterance from the mouth of Jesus Christ is the absolute Truth of God - the very standard by which every claim is to be validated. smiley

2 I don't care much about what Paul said though given that Jesus Christ is the only Standard of Truth that exists.

1 Jesus was leaving the Temple area. One of his followers said to him, “Teacher, look how big those stones are! What beautiful buildings!”
2 Jesus said, “Do you see these great buildings? They will all be destroyed. Every stone will be thrown down to the ground. Not one stone will be left on another.”
3 Later, Jesus was sitting at a place on the Mount of Olives. He was alone with Peter, James, John, and Andrew. They could all see the Temple, and they said to Jesus,
4 (Question #1) “Tell us when these things will happen. (Question #2) And what will show us it is time for them to happen?” - Mark 13 vs 1 - 4
...
5 Some of the followers were talking about the Temple. They said, “This is a beautiful Temple, built with the best stones. Look at the many good gifts that have been offered to God.”
6 But Jesus said, “The time will come when all that you see here will be destroyed. Every stone of these buildings will be thrown down to the ground. Not one stone will be left on another.”
7 Some followers asked Jesus, (Question #1) “Teacher, when will these things happen? (Question #2) What will show us that it is time for these things to happen?” - Luke 21 vs 5-7
Jesus Christ isn't the one lying here. You are! undecided

3. I am a follower of Jesus Christ who said He alone is the only standard of Truth that exists and by which every supposed idea is to be tested and validated so I am right to challenge all claims made by Paul in order to ascertain whether they are of Jesus Christ or not. undecided

1. Of course, every utterance from the mouth of Jesus Christ is the absolute Truth of God - the very standard by which every claim is to be validated. smiley

2 I don't care much about what Paul said though given that Jesus Christ is the only Standard of Truth that exists. Jesus Christ never said I should follow the teachings of a man named Paul so why exactly are you insistent, right after condemning Jesus Christ a liar, that Paul should be listened to instead? undecided

First I never said Jesus lied, and don't know where you got that from,
Second, there is no where Paul lifted himself or anyone above Jesus, and I don't know of any Christian lifting Paul above Jesus, what you have failed to answer is the question I asked you if you understand and know Paul more than the rest of the disciples of Jesus and Peter, you may want to read 2 Peter 3: 15-16 what Peter said about the type of people who don't understand or challenge Paul's teachings and what await them, you can tell me what you think about that passage and about Peter too,
Peter said in those verses that the type of people that don't understand Paul and the type that challenge him and his teachings are UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE PEOPLE, he said that those ones are also challenging the other scriptures and that they are doing so to their own destruction, are you one of those?

You must really be this local Einstein you claim to be. Is this how you brainwash your congregation in church. Talk tough and blow grammar to sway them. I pity anyone who takes his time to listen to this trash and fraud. Saying he will be here to expose what and who 🤣🤣, you must really own a church and congregation on this Nairaland. Local champion take your trophy 🏆 🤣🤣🤣. Bastard
You are listening to it, no?
And I am making marvelous sense, the type of sense you can't challenge, which your only defense is insults and abuses, (ineffective ones at that) intelligent people put up intelligent words and points, block heads will only resort to insults and violence, those who resort to insults and violence are only the brainless ones and Brains will forever defeat brawns , it's natural, you give only what you have and it's only violence

You think you are better than him even as you equally cast Jesus Christ as a Liar? Are you for real? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Where and how exactly did I cast Jesus as a liar? You need to show me, I am a Christian and every Christian believe that Jesus never lied and that no part of the bible contradicts the other, what we have are people like you who apparently don't understand the word but will claim to be experts in it thinking that the bible is just every other book
