Surely Paul is now in heaven as a born again Christian but as for Abraham, David and Elijah they have nothing to do with going to heaven because they all died without the invitation that is what Jesus meant when he said:

"Truly I say to you, among those born of women, there has not been raised up anyone greater than John the Baptist, but a lesser person in the Kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is" Matthew 11:11

Abraham, David and Elijah were born of women and they died though as faithful servants of God but they never received the Visa given to Born Again Christians which qualifies them for citizenship in heaven {Act 2:3-4} John the baptist has died too before this event that's why he is not among those going to heaven he is greater than all those born before his time because he is the first human to publicly recognize and present Jesus as Christ the saviour {John 1:29, 36} the same assignment given to all those believing in Jesus {Matthew 28:19-20; Act 1:8} secondly he prepared the way for the Christ by preaching to the Jews appealing to them to repent before the Christ begin his ministry {Matthew 3:1-6} thirdly he is the same person who baptized Christ Jesus in the Jordan river, saw God's Holy Spirit landed on Jesus' head and heard God's own voice confirming that Jesus is Christ the saviour! Matthew 3:13-17

All these made him the greatest of all servants of God ever lived before his time but then he never lived to preach and practice what Jesus taught which qualifies those who did to gain the access to the baptism of the spirit.

We can’t make Heaven by our personal efforts or self-righteousness. We can only make Heaven by the great mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Do not encourage people to think they can save themselves. Indeed, all our righteousness is like filthy rags before Almighty God. (Isaiah 64:6).

We all fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23). That is why we are saved by the grace of God through the great mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:3-16, 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9).

No believer-in-Christ should die in a backsliding or cold or lukewarm spiritual condition due to the deception of 'Eternal Security' known as 'Once Saved, Always Saved.' (OSAS). 

King David of Israel while alive acknowledged his sins, repented and asked God for forgiveness but King Saul of Israel died in his rebellious and backsliding condition.

King David ended up in Heaven after physical death on Earth due to his sober repentance and great mercy of God. In contrary, King Saul damned his soul to horrible torment in eternal burning Hell fire by committing the great sin of self murder known as suicide.

God never created for humans to go to heaven {Psalms 115:16} it's spirits that live there not humans {Luke 20:34-36} so from the beginning of creation until Jesus walked the earth all faithful servants of God were promised a resurrection on planet earth where Paradise will be established. Job 14:13-15; Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5

Jerusalem was the proposed center for the Kingdom of God that's where Christ and his corulers supposed to stay and rule the earth {Isaiah 2:3} but because the city has been polluted with the killing of God's faithful servants that's why Jesus said Jerusalem has been condemned. Matthew 21:43; 23:37-38

His followers were confused when they heard him so he told them not to worry about the place they will stay to rule with him because he is going to prepare another place where they will stay with him and rule over the earth. John 14:1-3

That's what brought about some humans going to heaven, God never promised humans heaven from the beginning!

Well the word "HELL" is the obsolete English for Shoel (Hebrew) Hades (Greek) all means the land of the dead everyone from Abel till today are going there it's the common grave of mankind.

There are two options: LIFE or DEATH

This is what God's word made plainly:

For the wages sin pays is DEATH, but the gift God gives is everlasting LIFE by Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

As for any wrong doing that man never showed a sign of repentance for God's word said:

For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin. Romans 6:7

So DEATH is the one and only punishment for sin just as God said in the beginning {Genesis 2:17} while life is only for the righteous.

Jesus taught so many things in parables {Matthew 13:13, 34} that's why you people have misconstrued his teachings thinking that evildoers will also be alive somewhere suffering regarding tormenting living people God said:

"They have built the high places of Toʹpheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinʹnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, something that I had not commanded and that had never even come into my heart" Jeremiah 7:31

So burning living people in fire is against God's thoughts He never had such thinking at all it's either Adam live or die nothing afterwards!
