"Congratulations, Mrs. Genevieve Westley. You're a month and two weeks pregnant". Doctor Nora broke the news to me. She was smiling entrancingly. I was not reciprocating the smiles. My mood changed. My heart raced like a chased cheetah. I started sweating. It was profused. She stretched the test result to me. I didn't notice. She had called me thrice but I was absentminded.

"Your husband will be so happy, ah! After ten years of marriage!". Doctor Nora with her delightful smiles eulogized like the pregnant one. Of course I should be the happiest woman on earth, pregnant after a whole fruitless ten years! But I can't seem to find the joy. I tried hiding my tears.

"Genevieve, are you alright? You don't look excited! This has been your greatest heart desire! Your husband will be the happiest man ever when he gears this!". Doctor Nora held my hands over the table. She distracted me from the gloomy thought. I feigned a smile. I collected the result. I carefully looked at it. It was true. I was pregnant. How can I tell my husband that the pregnancy isn't his? How will I look into his eyes and tell him my little slip? How?

"God be praised. Thank you Doctor. I should be on my way now". I stood up and walked sluggishly to the door.

"Genevieve, you know you can talk to me. Is anything the matter?". She pressed on. This time, her smile has faded. I slightly nodded as I turned ti her.

"It's just the shock, Doctor Nora. I am fine". I feigned another smile. She smiled back and threw some words of encouragement. I left the hospital with Apollo, my husband's loyal driver.

"Madam, you dey fine?". Apollo inquired glancing into my teary face as ge drove. I didn't turn to him. I didn't look at him. He asked and asked. I couldn't help but shout at him.

"Okay, sorry." He apologized and wheeled.

"Oga call me oh, he sey him dey come tomorrow evening". Apollo broke another news. My heart panted. I held my breath. Westley that I know has never been my best friend in marriage. He hardly said anything to me for years when we married whenever he travels. He often calls his driver.

But Westley has been the best husband in the world. I have never lacked a thing.
