You lack functioning brain cells. That's the only explanation for why you wrote garbage and insist on defending it. Maybe I shouldn't be upset with you because garbage is in your dna. Garbage in, Garbage out. babasolution: |

nairalanda1: 90bn for hajj subsidies, but they should tax and tax and tax, they have 90bn for hajj but not for electricity 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by nairalanda1(m): 8:07am On Mar 30 |
babasolution: Well 1.Government does subsidise electricity. It's not something I support(because in return discos cannot charge above the cost of production and make a profit, meaning the mess in the sector results), but they do subsidise electricity. 2.People should pay for their hajj or christian pilgrimage, not govenrment. Government hajj subsides have and always have been a waste of money. |
Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by babasolution: 9:37am On Mar 30 |
nairalanda1: But you'll say there's no money for development, that's goes my point that the colonial GENERATION due to their over religious disposition have misplaced priorities choosing to develop religions over other more important sectors. Where did they get the money from,if there's no money? Even if they borrowed why will they borrow to fund religion? The colonial GENERATION are ruining Nigeria |
Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by nairalanda1(m): 9:41am On Mar 30 |
babasolution: 1. Well, development comes from letting the free market do it's thing and also promoting the industrial development and the export of manufactured goods and services 2. Your leaders chose excessive subsides and welfarist policies which you like because at the end we have a large poor population that needed uplifting 3. It worked but it also did not work. As a result we have a heavily indebted economy 4. And yes stealing is happening because most of our money does not come from tax. If it came from tax, people would be incentivise to hold their government accountable. Instead it comes from resources and as such no incentive 5. There really isn't enough money. We should be earning 300 billion or more dollars per annum. Not the measly 50 billion we earn . And the stealing that happens makes it worse. Oga, you really should read comments instead of making assumptions 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by babasolution: 3:31pm On Mar 30 |
nairalanda1: It all boils down to the old colonial GENERATION and their stupid ways |
Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by nairalanda1(m): 3:40pm On Mar 30 |
babasolution: Nope, boils down to people like you and most nigerians preferring socialism, to industrialization and the free market. |

JagabanB: The best schools started by missionaries and colonialists were to teach us to be better Christians and subjects and not to teach us to be better scientists, technologists or better critical thinkers. 1 Like |
Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by nairalanda1(m): 3:50pm On Mar 30 |
wirinet: Again, I disagree there, speaking as someone who knew people who went to mission schools where they learned to be scientists and technologists and so on. All the mission schools taught the sciences, and the other modern subjects. True in Nigeria and in most parts of the world. And many of their graduates went on to universites to read science based courses and graduate. I mean, a lot of the scientists and techies we have had were misson school graduates and still are. Yeah, religion may be bad to you, but it is not that evil...if what you are saying is right, we would have been in a worse state at independence self.... |
Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by wirinet(m): 3:50pm On Mar 30 |
nairalanda1:What do you mean Nigerian preferring socialism? Which socialist based party has won elections in Nigeria after UPN? All current parties in Nigeria are ultra Conservative parties. How many social services do Nigerians enjoy compared to the rest of the world, Even the bastion of capitalism- The US enjoy more social services than Nigerians. |
