She had a lot of free range chicken

Goats too in a separate compound...
Well, your story is changing now
It's now free range chicken and goats.
In addition to a rice Mill which she later sold to go and babysit white kids in UK

You are missing the point. Your side hustle does not need to be rice. You are on NairaLand...Do you know what you can achieve on here alone or with your phone? My point is...you can sit and complain or have initiatives that can impact your life. I know a friend...all she does is post clothes for other people using the same data that will be wasted by others. If the dress is N5000, she can list it for N6,000 and when bought, she will pick up and ship to Lagos or Abuja as the case may be. She makes a good income on that in addition to her salary...when it was time to buy a car, she did it by herself...and supports the husband by buying provisions for the kids and all. They just moved into their own house. Husband too sells land on the side...his trustworthiness has allowed him to pocket hundreds of thousands of Naira in agency fees. Same country...different mindsets.

Someone who sells clothes online is not something I see as a side hustle in today's Nigeria. Almost all ladies I know have one thing or the other they are selling online.
Besides, I can almost bet she can't boast of 20k every month from selling clothes online especially the way you described.

The cassava was not for you.

But it's obvious your story is changing with each post.

Don't idle on cassava. Explain how someone who owned a rice mill as at 2002 was also rearing chickens, goats etc. You think rice mill is owned by poor people or people hustling to survive? Ask the Op
Then she sold the mill to go and start babysitting kids for pittance in the UK.
Tell me another story

No it is you who doesn't know what a rice mill is.
The cost of connecting a rice mill to the power grid is millions of naira. Not to mention getting a standby generator, the mill itself and the workers. Or you think just one person can operate a rice mill? Ask the Op na.
So someone will sell a rice mill worth millions of naira in 2002 to go babysit and change diapers in UK.
You really didn't think this story through

She is not the one selling the clothes, lol...She is posting for the person selling and gaining some funds. She might make less than N10k per month, but that will cover some expenses ...in addition to her salary. As I said, hubby also works and makes good money and is still into real estate...one deal she told me netted him N500k. There are tons of landlords who need great agents..lots of people who need someone to supervise their properties...you need to create value, be trustworthy, and be diligent, and the side hustle can become the main hustle. I started tutoring right after secondary school...i even volunteered at the church to help students for free, and 2 parents hired me..I was 16-17 years old. I am over 40 now, and I still tutor online beyond where I live. One can keep complaining...or find a niche and key into it... the choice is YOURS.

But you just claimed she bought a car from selling clothes online.
I don't know the value being created by posting clothes online though
