James JighJigh Abi famously known as Jay Sound is one of most sought-after multi-talented Afropop musicians in Nigeria. The Benue State born artiste from Gboko local government area started musical career at a very tender age while following famous artistes like Oristefemi, Jumabee and others as their choreographer.

Speaking with Jay Sound, he said music has been the drive that has been keeping him alive while his passion for music has become a way of expressing himself.

"I choose Afropop as my genre of music because it was easy for me to express myself and most of my fans could understand what I'm dishing out. So far, I have done 17 good songs and composed close to 50 now.

Jay sound is not just a singer, he also does political songs for political parties and politicians. One of his songs was famous for ushering in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which he was contracted by the elsewhile Minister of humanitarian affairs, Betta Edu.

"I did political songs for different parties because I needed more ears and I needed to explore myself to add more credit to my portfolio. As an artiste doing those songs for them,it was a stepping stone for me to move and to know more personalities.

"I'm planing that this year, I need to meet more top notch superstars who has made more efforts in the industry especially Don Jazzy, Olamide, etc. They will reshape me and nurture my talent for a better tomorrow.

He also speaks on his challenges:
"The challenges I have faced as an artist is the reason I'm waxing stronger because if I'm to say all here I won't finish today...but the major one is not having your personal gadgets to wake up at night and record what comes between the silent time. Also, attending shows and end up trekking home countless times so the experience has kept me stronger" he added.

He concluded by thanking his fans for standing by him all these years , promising that he will not let them down.

He also promised them to keep hope alive as he's cooking something that they haven't heard and seen before in the music industry.
