A lot of people insulted former president Goodluck Jonathan during his tenure. Did you back out from voting his opponent former Muhammadu Buhari because of his saucy supporters?
Would you rather allow a quack surgeon operate on you because you hate the relatives of the competent surgeon?

This hatred started before and after Nigeria's independence whereby Igbos dominated virtually sectors of Nigeria by merit to the envy and disgust of Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas, so the January 1966 coup led by Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu presented a rare opportunity to let out their bottled envy against Igbos, and then the civil war that lasted between 1967 to 1970 gave the opportunity to confiscate powers, and presented Yorubas a rare opportunity to gangup with the North to displace Igbos in the federal politics and economy in Nigeria, and as Igbos rose from the ashes of the civil war to reclaim yet another enviable position in Nigeria as the backbone of Nigeria's micro economy and trade, the Yorubas have been so uneasy and unsettled about this and are ready to go into unholy political alliance with Hausa-Fulanis at any cost to ensure Igbos do not get a shot at Nigeria's Presidency.



It was the same reason they fought Goodluck and hated him, simply because Goodluck made Igbos the backbone of his government, so look no further why they swore never to see a competent Peter Obi lead Nigeria to a communal progress for all than their unending envy and struggle to outshine Igbos in Nigeria

That is not the reason but using insults as excuse. Buhari's supporters killed about a thousand people when he lost in 2011. He is also from the Fulani with the Fulani herdsmen designated as the fourth deadliest terrorist groups globally, yet they voted for him.
