Key Duties and Responsibilities

Interpret Sketches, designs, drawings or instructions to create required components.

Plan the sequence of necessary steps to help complete any jobs.

Take measurements and mark material for cutting, bending and any other fabrication process.

Perform optimal machine selection for component specification and material type.

Conduct setting up of machine variables to reduce defects and optimise results.

Design tools, fixtures or experimental parts to meet plant special engineering needs.

Perform quality checks to ensure no defects after the job is carried out.

Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.

Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.

Review final output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.

Ensure that all operations adhere to plant & workshop safety protocols

Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.


Machinist

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Setting up and operating all the machines to produce precision parts

Performs and documents quality checks during machining operation

Interpret drawings and sketches for the production of required parts

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities include three major areas:

Engineering Standards

Plant Integrity

Technical Assurance

Engineering Standards

Lead the development of engineering standards for all equipment 

Ensure that company engineering standards satisfy the minimum requirements of the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) and other regulatory/statutory agencies 

Continuously update company engineering standards to adapt to changes in the operating environment and industry and global best practices

Develop and implement a framework for the incorporation of new energy in the business such as digitalization and decarbonization

Plant Integrity

Contribute to the identification of Critical Equipment, based on guidelines from the Head, Technical Solutions & Standards, Risk Management, Plant Integrity & Technical Assurance. 

Verify that the Critical Equipment Register (CER) is in place and updated.

Ensure that equipment criticality set in the various risk-based processes (RBI, RCM, CE Register) is updated.

Develop Asset Integrity Framework for Egbin Power Plc; get it endorsed by the Head, Technical Solutions & Standards, Risk Management, Plant Integrity & Technical Assurance and communicated to all staff. 

Establish all relevant standards and procedures required to formalize the key processes required to manage Asset Integrity

Technical Assurance

Conducts /contributes to risk assessments associated with anomalies and incidents. Advise on integrity threats.

Identify all Integrity Management responsibilities, and ensure they are correctly allocated throughout the Asset Organization and properly documented as part of the Integrity Management System.

Verify that job descriptions properly address asset integrity requirements. Verify that staff are fully aware of their responsibilities associated with Asset Integrity management and that they have adequate skill levels for the position.

Verify that certification and training plans are in place where appropriate and follow-up progress through a competence assurance process. Conduct awareness sessions for local staff as required.

Senior Dicipline Electrical Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The primary role of a Senior Discipline Electrical Engineer is to assist the SME (Electrical) in providing high-level expertise and professional advice on the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and end-of-useful-life decision-making of all electrical assets; necessary to maximize overall asset performance, in a safe, profitable and sustainable manner.

The job holder will assist the SME (Electrical) to ensure that all risks associated with the design and operation of electrical assets are identified and permanently maintained at an accepted level, in compliance with the Asset Management Philosophy and Strategy Document for 1.32GW Egbin Power Plant, HSE and relevant referential documents.
 

Senior Chemical Process Engineer

Job Summary

Manages chemical treatment activities, operations of the condensate polishing plant, demineralization plant, water treatment plant and estate water booster for the shift. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises chemical operations activities for designated shifts.

Takes key decisions for designated shifts during operation.

Manage the demineralization plant operations

Ensure chemical treatment activities required for the demineralization of groundwater and treatment of water.

Carry out operations of the Demineralisation (Demin) plant, water treatment plant and Condensate Polishing Plant (CPP) 

Provide direction and coordinate the activities of the Demin and CPP technicians

Ensure production and sufficient stocking of demineralized water for the units

Perform process improvement on chemical treatment of water

Monitoring and conditioning of the Boiler feed water.

Ensure sufficient availability & production of Demin water for the power generation units

Perform analysis of tests taken by chemical operations technicians

Put in service the water treatment plant and assist in carrying out regeneration activities.

Perform maintenance measures in the condensate polishing unit and online analysers

Supervise the high availability and reliability of the condensate polishing unit and online analysers

Perform regular testing and monitoring of water quality

Conducting water analysis tests such as hardness, alkalinity, PH, turbidity, chlorine residual, etc., for treatment process control

Perform analysis on online meters and reagents.

Conduct water analysis tests to ensure safety and water quality by collecting representative water samples and testing for contaminants and properties such as colour, odour, chlorine levels, nitrification, etc.

Perform regeneration activities.

Ensure adherence to safety, environment and other statutory guidelines

Subject Matter Expert (Instrumentation & Control)

The primary role of Subject Matter Expert-Instrumentation & control (SME-I & C) is to provide high-level expertise and professional advice on the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and end-of-useful-life decision-making of all Instrumentation & control assets; necessary to maximize overall asset performance, in a safe, profitable and sustainable manner.
