Caught One Of The Birds That Usually Attacks My Free Range Chickens. by safarifarms(m): 11:12am On Apr 22
Today I caught one of the birds that usually comes to attack my free range chickens on my farm. Caught it with my bare hands.

Those claws you are seeing there are so sharp and strong. I pierced my skin and injured me but I won't let go. Lol

This tiny bird that should weigh less than 500g will attack a mature chicken and eat it alive right there on the floor as it definitely can't carry the chicken which is heavier than it.

I've lost a few birds to this thieve. Today was the day for the owner.

It's obviously already dead. Lol.

When I caught it, I swung it continuously for a while hoping to prevent it from being able to use it's strong claws or beak on me. When I felt it should be weak and relaxed, the thing deeped it's claws in my hands and wounded me. I began hitting it on the floor till it died.

See the deadly looking talons of the hawk.
These formidable weapons will instantly kill any prey caught by the hawk,by puncturing its internal organs or crushing the spine.
Eagles possess the most powerful talons ( claws) of any bird of prey, being able to crush the skulls and spines of monkeys, deer, antelopes, sloths, cubs of lions, wolves, leopards, hyenas, tigers, jaguars.

It always goes for mature chickens on my farm. It's not interested in the young ones.

It came to perch on my fence by a roof extension at the back of my farm house.

I saw it from the room and moved stealthily to where it was. The roof extension didn't allow it to see me. Was thinking it may have sharp hearing but it obviously doesn't. I grabbed it by the leg (I couldn't believe it).

Some months ago a fruit bat that came to eat pawpaw fell into a pond and drowned.

Picture was taken in the night.

I knew what to expect and had a plan on how to handle it even though I failed to execute the plan properly. I should have hit it on the ground to kill it immediately but I had choosen to swing it instead and ended up having it piece my skin with it's claw. I was initially thinking of capturing it alive.

That is obviously a falcon. It hunts other birds and feeds on them. Like dove and full grown hen

Falcon's beaks are very sharp and not as curved as this..

Looks more like a hawk to me, esp with those sharp claws as described by the op..
