Student Loan scheme: ‘Include private university students among beneficiaries’ – Obasanjo tells Tinubu Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged President Bola Tinubu to include students of private universities among beneficiaries of the Student Loan Scheme. Obasanjo, however, raised doubt over the running of the scheme without recording corrupt practices. The former president spoke at the inauguration of the Asiwaju Onafowokan, Coleman Wires and Cables building at Bells University’s College of Postgraduate Studies in Ota, Ogun State. According to Obasanjo: “The Vice-Chancellor has spoken about the need to include students in private universities as beneficiaries of the Student Loan Scheme. I urge the government to listen to that and take heed to include them too. I doubt if the scheme will be run without corruption, that is another matter entirely.” Obasanjo, the proprietor of Bell University of Technology, opined that the loan scheme was crucial to the development of the society and the welfare of the citizens and that excluding a group of people would be counterproductive. https://dailypost.ng/2024/04/22/student-loan-scheme-include-private-university-students-among-beneficiaries-obasanjo-tells-tinubu/

Did OBJ consult with Peter Obi to evaluate if it is a misplaced priority? OBJ did all he could to hinder Tinubu both in Lagos when both were in power and in Tinubu's subsequent political ambition. We all know who won and who is the loser. |

Nah, private universities are private business The parents sending their kids to private university can afford it If such Opportunity is given to private university students, then we should be expecting the collapse of our both state and federal universities |
