Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen & Councilors take Plenary Session practical at Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Yenagoa

As part of the orientation programme being organised by the Ministry of Local Government of Bayelsa State for Newly-elected Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Councillors, earlier today the first tranche of the 105 wards Councillors, LGA Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen were admitted into the Gallery of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to witness live plenary session on the floor of the House.

The Councillors observed for the first time how motions are sponsored, moved, seconded and amended on the floor of the State House. They also witnessed how commissioner nominees are screened, or otherwise asked to "take a bow and leave", as it's in the case of former members of the State House, as it's their privilege to be so accorded.
