The Story Of Professor Ambrose Ali. How He Went From Governor To Prison

He was a Nigerian doctor and politician who became famous throughout the country during the Second Republic from 1979 to 1983. Ambrose Ali was born on September 22, 1929 in Ekpoma, Bendel State, and was educated at Immaculate Conception College, Benin City, before going to St. Asaba College, Patrick and Agricultural School, Ibadan.
He trained as a medical laboratory technician at the University College Medical Laboratory, Ibadan, from 1950 to 1953, and studied medicine at the University College, Ibadan, from 1953 to 1960. There he then studied medicine in the United Kingdom and worked in local hospitals and hospitals in Zimbabwe (1960-1962).
Ali returned to Nigeria in 1966 and began a distinguished academic career, From 1969 to 1971, he was Ahmadu Bello Professor of Morbid Anatomy, Zaria; from 1971 to 1974, he was a Professor at the University of Ibadan.
