mrvitalis: There are a lot of research papers on it online, there are many Youtube videos of it where it has been adopted in rural rice growing communities....I am yet to see or read where Ebonyi state government both past and present had said they have looked into it and it is more expensive than the current electricity generation model that has been supplying more of darkness. |

Mindlog:Something working and being sustainable are two different things Locations of mills, collection cost per ton, energy conversation per ton, cost of construction, labor cost and break even time These are few things u need to look for before building a power plant We are igbos we don't build unviable feel good project |

Totally misplaced priority, airline ownership or investments are not for the faint hearted......a lot of cost is incurred and breaking even takes a long time. For the peculiarities of Nigeria in general and Ebonyi state in particular, the airline business cannot drive the economy of the state. They need to focus on that which can employ massively and can be done well and uniquely. Fir example😅, the Abakaliki rice can be massively invest in to help promote the country's food security and generate income for the state.... Some countries in the world have rice as their main economic pillar and export |

mrvitalis: That airline is the feel good project! When power plant is mentioned in this context, don't imagine the scale of Geometrics. I know rice production like the back of my hand. from land preparation, planting, herbiciding, fertilizing, harvesting with sickles, threshing with sticks, winnowing with hand fans right there in farm before the paddies are bagged and taken out of the farm for either storage or milling. I was involved in it in Achalla (Anambra state), go to Oye Achalla, Omor, etc where local rice mills operates and see "mountains" of rice husks, daily burning slowly in the open air when a small biomass power plants around those areas could take care of electricity needs in those mills instead of buying diesel. If Umahi had used the airport project funds and invested heavily in their rice value chain, we both know Ebonyians would have had it better by now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0XcoeqVoaI |

jmoore:Their aircrafts will operate just like any other aircraft in Nigeria. Ibom Air is flying all over Nigeria, Ebonyi Air will fly all over Nigeria. You can fly from Lagos, Accra, Abuja, Enugu, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Uyo on Ibom Air. Ebonyi won't only be flying from the state owned airport, it does not make sense to run the business like that. |
