French is the second official language of Nigeria. What will it be like if French is taken more seriously and implemented in Nigeria?

French studies provide transferable skills and diverse career opportunities in education, translation, international relations and beyond.

General Sani Abacha pronounced French as the second official language of Nigeria in 1996. Unfortunately, this policy has remained on paper ever since as it was never implemented. Although, French is a compulsory course in secondary schools nationwide.
