Kwara State House of Assembly member representing Ojomu/Balogun Constituency, Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi, initiated a groundbreaking partnership with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) to launch the Smart POS and Cash Empowerment Scheme.

Under this visionary programme, 30 constituents were provided with smart POS machines coupled with a startup capital of N10,000 each, in the first phase. This was aimed at fostering self-reliance and fostering employment opportunities within the community.

The inauguration ceremony, held at The Adato Constituency office in Afelele area Offa, Kwara State, witnessed an outpouring of gratitude and joy from the beneficiaries who hailed Ogbeni Seun for his unwavering commitment to their welfare.

In a bid to ensure the seamless integration of the beneficiaries into the financial ecosystem, officials from FCMB were present to impart comprehensive training on the utilization of the POS terminals and facilitate various financial transactions. Moreover, each beneficiary was appointed as an FCMB authorized agent, tasked with extending financial services across designated locations within the constituency.

Furthermore, beyond the initial assistance, beneficiaries will receive ongoing support through regular training sessions, micro/SME capacity development clinics, and access to incentives such as single-digit business growth loans.

The launch of the Smart POS and Cash Empowerment Scheme underscores Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi's dedication to fostering economic prosperity and enhancing the livelihoods of his constituents.

Commendable. This will go a long way in curtailing youth restiveness in his constituency.

Only if our politicians keep coming up with brilliant ideas like this.

POS only thrives where people have money to spend.
Zoom in and you'd see it's something FCMB can even do.

The Ogbeni should face skill acquisition that would upgrade the earning power of those youths.
ICT dey there...Agribusiness dey...cottage industries can be established.
