Landmark should just sue the FG and ask for compensation for his business. If that road runs through his beach front, that business is totally gone!
Why crying more than the bereaved

You are terribly uninformed. Before displaying your ignorance in a public forum, listen to the arguments from the two sides. That's what reasonable people do. I won't reply you again.

Mr. informed ILLITERATE, youre the one that needs to go and watch what Umahi said about how landmark converted government's land for his business use. Not everything is POLITICAL TRIBALISM, some things require research and use of common sense. Many reasonable individuals like BOLAJI have moved out of the Obirodents camp, the rest of you can remain there for your happiness.

This administration is just confused. This Lagos Calabar coastal highway will not be completed in 60 years, take that to the bank.
Since year 2000 till now almost 24 years we are yet to deliver 140 km Lagos Ibadan express road that was not a new project even, just add one lane on both sides, from Obj to Tinubu, yet to be delivered.
Now we want to wast trillions on a project that will never be completed just like the railway to Maradi in Niger republic.
Anyway let them continue, God is watching
Enugu onitsha expressway has been under construction even before I wrote jamb. That's like 14 years ago.
Just 100km road. They'll probably complete it in 2030.

It will be completed in 8 years. You are bastard if you use the road after it's completed.

Do you guys even reason before thinking? Funding for the project is 100% secured and you see the rate at which the project is advancing - you must think this is another of your typical public project. And if your brain is functioning, you should know by now that this coastal road is what Tinubu wants to use as landmark achievement of his administration.
It's you that a bastard gave birth to that is the biggest bastard, at your age you can't get something doing, rather you choose to waste your life drinking agbo and waiting for politicians to share money, Idiot

They said they won't touch landmark, but now it seems It's been touched. Though they said he's within the right of ways of FG. He can't sue.

That road will not favour you if you use it when its completed. All these hypocrites and enemies of progress. They insult Lagos during the day and run to Lagos through night bus. Lagos will not favour all of you enemies of Lagos.

he will never win against the government on this, it the law that 250 meters off the sea coast is owned by the government and if he pushes further he could be forced to even pay the government for making huge money off government property. If he is wise enough he should have just bargain for a flyover pedestrian bridge to be constructed for beach access. Very simple solution if well bargained.

Which bargain solution? What concerns Landmark and the law concerning 250 metres off the sea? Did he buys the land and the beach front? Nobody can create a BOTTLENECK for this project. If Landmark were to be a YORUBA can he ever create the bottleneck? Who will pay for the flyover? How many months will it take to cross the bottleneck created by landmark before the road construction moves forward ?

There have been several sponsored attacks on this project, environmental delay tactics should not be entertained.

The tempo of the project must not be killed . What you cannot try anywhere is what these guys are doing here. They want HITECH to spend 6 months or one year to move ahead. It is not going to be at his own interest if that project is delayed beyond necessary at that place.

The Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi, on Saturday in Lagos, flagged off the demolition of a section of the Landmark Beach, the Mami Chula Beach Lifestyle, to give way to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

Umahi began the demolition after he inspected kilometres 13, 16 and 20 to ensure the most economical and viable way to access the coastal roads without much damage.

He noted that the demolition was necessary since the landmark centre was located on the Federal Government’s Right-of-way.

He stressed that several structures would be affected by the demolition, adding that compensation would be provided.

Umahi said, “So with the utmost fear of God, gratitude to God Almighty and the commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in our infrastructural development agenda in particular, I wish to flag off this demolition.

”It’s in a right-of-way within the coastal corridor which is the legitimate right-of-way of the Federal Government.

“Before the flag off of the demolition of the landmark, I graciously increased the grace period by another seven days and yet another four days and here we are because the project stopped because of lack of demolition.

“And I want to commend the likes of Bolaji, incidentally from kilometre zero to four from what I’m seeing, he is the only one that is majorly affected. That’s the only infrastructure I can see that is affected.”

The Minister, who acknowledged that some people were opposed to the project, insisted that it was necessary for economic development.

He assured those affected by the demolition that they would be adequately compensated, adding that documentation would start between May 2 and May 3.

Umahi also assured that he would be available throughout the week to address any confirmation or payment issues related to the demolition.

Responding, the Chief Executive Officer, Mami Chula Beach, Mr Bolaji Ariyo, acknowledged the project’s necessity for development, even when it causes inconvenience for a small number of people.

He said, “We all hope this is the renewed hope that we all clamoured for, during the campaign, we all prayed for development in Nigeria.

“And some of us have so much belief in Mr President that he will do it well, and this is an opportunity.

“For example, I’m a Lagosian and this is also a development that has been set down for a very long time. It is good that Mr President is doing that right now.

“It is unfortunate. We all prayed for development, and in every development, some people pay the price and sacrifice for the development.

“You might be wondering why I’m talking like this, maybe because I was also on the other side before, so, I understand what governance means.

“I understand when a government is promising to make life easy for the entire Nigerians.

”Some of us are affected, no doubt about it, but those of us affected are not up to 0.1% of the millions of people that will enjoy the coastal roads.

“That’s why people like me, have taken it to heart to also support Mr President and the honourable minister to ensure that this road comes to life.”
