A Man simply identified as Azeez has allegedly jumped into the lagoon in Lagos and drowned while trying to avoid arrest after being accused of stealing some bags of cement.

The spokesperson of the Police Command in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to NAN on Sunday.

Hundeyin said the director in charge of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, in Lagos Central reported the case at Ikoyi Police Division on Friday at about 12.20 pm.

According to him, the director reported that at about 10.45 am on Friday, he received a call that there was an incident at Lekki/Ikoyi Link Bridge.

He added that on getting to the scene, he met a large crowd by the waterside, watching the lifeless body of a man who had drowned.

β€œThe deceased was later identified as Azeez. He was later confirmed dead by paramedics of Pre Hospital Care, Lagos.

β€œIt was discovered that one Elijah Amos, a seller of the cement, was pursuing the deceased before he jumped into the lagoon, because he was alleged to have stolen some bags of cement
,” Hundeyin said.

He disclosed that the scene was visited by the police, while the corpse had been evacuated to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy and preservation.

Anybody that has the mind to do this has had an encounter with the men in BLACK. Instead of experiencing the torment he chooses "easy way". Nigeria is useless as a used tissue.

I'm interested in knowing the legal implications of this for the man who pursued him with accusations.

Any legal professional?

Jumps into Lagos Lagoon...

Or he was pushed into the Lagoon by the accuser...

The police should dig deep into this cement theft story...

because there are some accusations that can even make a man commit suicide or killed by the accuser

Later you will see people like him online insulting Peter Obi. Meanwhile their daily job is armed robbery . Integrity and productivity are strange words to them. That's why they will always support corruption and incompetence undecided undecided
