Making doughnuts is a fun and rewarding process! Here's a basic recipe to get you started:

Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Flavorings like vanilla or chocolate (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.
4. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes elastic and slightly sticky.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
6. Preheat oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350°F (180°C).
7. Punch down the dough and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness.
8. Use a doughnut cutter or a glass to cut out the doughnuts.
9. Fry the doughnuts for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
10. Drain excess oil and let the doughnuts cool on a wire rack.
11. Glaze or dust with sugar (optional) and enjoy your freshly baked doughnuts!

Tips:

- Use a thermometer to ensure the oil reaches the correct temperature.
- Don't overcrowd the frying pan, fry in batches if necessary.
- Experiment with different flavors and toppings to create unique doughnut varieties!

Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't be discouraged if your first batch doesn't turn out exactly as expected. Happy doughnut making! See your way at the top.
