The prophet has not human physical office like the priest. I see a people confused the office of the prophet with that of the priest.

A prophet is a chosen person by God. This person is chosen by God even before birth. He is God's mouth piece on the earth. My the position a man occupies, he can be anointed a prophet by God even if he wasn't initially chosen to be a prophet.

A priest on the other hand is one chosen to take care of God's people. Anyone can occupy this position like the office of the president of a nation.

However, In the old testament, only people from the lineage of Aaron could enter the priestly office.
