The Answer is "Force" and technology.
They all could Write down their languages with their own letters.
They all had paper, pencil, pen, gunpower (for bullets), and expert metal working skills to make weapons for war, swords, spear, armour
They all had horses for mechanised labour and carrying their soldiers to the battlefield. Steam Engine trains, Bicycles, ... machines.
All three languages you mentioned had Empires and fought bloody wars, using all these technologies, to Force their languages on others.
Without local homegrown technology, you are not a nation in anyway.
They collected almost all of Africa and pushed us aside.

British Empire travelled around the world to colonise other countries and force English into their mouths.
Russia had Tzars, Communism and others to expand their boundaries and conquer as much of Europe as possible.
China had Dynasties and Communism and Forceful rulers.

We Nigeria are a collection of very small tribes and villages that were very quickly overpowered by for the weapons of the British.
