There is Mami Chula lifestyle beach as well that's affected, and several Oniru family properties, but Obidients are wailing on behalf of landmark, even more than the owner of landmark himself. Agenda must agend.

The idiot with no legacy project in Anambra has now become an expert on coastal road.

See the riff-raffs and never-do-well, the drug baron employed to defend nonsense! How is Lagos-Calabar coastal road a more pressing issues being faced by Nigerians at this periods of our worst economic crises? Even fools that haven't achieved anything notable in their lives, would bandied insults carelessly!

I remember how we used to walk for almost 30minutes from the road before even reaching the shoreline.
Tinubu really did justice to stopping the ocean surge.

Ask Peter Obi and his Obidients why they didn't criticise the construction of the Second Niger bridge despite the bad roads in the South East. But because this Coastal road doesn't include Igboland, Peter has suddenly become an activist.

Aptly stated.

The first question is: is the project necessary at this period of great troubles and hunger in the land?

We are doing this to satisfy one man's love for acquisition.

Taming the surge was a great task. Ahmadu Bello way used to be flooded back then.

Was there no hunger and global recession in 2016 when Buhari accelerated the 2nd Niger bridge, when there was already an existing bridge?
Did you Igbos cry then?

But now, because the road is to SS and SW, you have turned your opposition to progress to the highest levels.

Why are you Igbos like this? Why

The owner of Landmark was just a politician masquerading as a investor. He said he saw the beach lying fallow and decided to build it up... Without any recourse to federal government the owners or official permit. Is that how things are done in the abroad country he claimed he came from. He was just trying to blackmail the government emotionally to let his personal investment investment be on the beach. The beach is a public property. If he wants to build a proper beach resort he should buy/rent a beachland properly and accordingly and from the rightful owners too which is the F. G.
Thank God his blackmail failed and the road will progress. Gov. Soludo is busy destroying houses everyday in Anambra for new roads but you'll never hear Obi talk. But once it comes to Lagos, you'll see him Obi jumping like a loosened monkey claiming he now loves Lagos more than his SE. Enemies of progress will keep failing.

There was an exiting Bridge and a second one was built. Igbos applauded it.

But they are now crying over a road. Why?
This is exactly how they were crying over the Oweto bridge in Loko.

Why this wickedness?
According to them, anything that doesn't benefit them is a waste.

Tinubu was Governor of Lagos for 8 years. He had the responsibility to protect Lagosians from all known dangers, including tidal waves. He didn't do that.

Mr. Tinubu, having gained insight as Governor, and instead of doing his statutory duty as the elected Chief Executive of the State, decided to do the same project in connivance with known portfolio criminals, the Chagourys, as a private venture with part of the money stolen from Lagos.

Mr. Tinubu, thanks to his corruption and kleptomania, is undoubtedly the largest landowner in Nigeria today. And this is the person his paid touts come here to launder before us.

If Nigeria is a civilized and less corrupt society, this man and his associates will be permanent residents of Kirikiri Prison instead of his current position.

To Bigots like you, anyone with opposing views is termed an Igbo. You can't reason outside your primordial tribal affiliations. Sorry to burst your archaic reasoning, I'm neither from the listed regions you mentioned. As a concerned Nigerian, I put it to you, how is that project of more pressing issues owing to the severe economic challenges being faced by the citizens? How soon would that road be constructed, is a year or two or more?

In your houses, do you just spend money stupidly when you've lean resources, or apply basic economics using order of preference?

N.B: It would be an effort in futility engaging a bot with several moniker on NL, continue to revel in your idiocy!

Thank God you made this remark again. While the Ocean encroached to the main road and half of Ahmadu Bello way from Oceanography School junction was taken over by rocks used as Ocean breakers, different professionals were given lectures, writing essays and report on how the ocean would swallow up the entire VI, Lekki and Ajah. The FG contributed to the mess and OBJ was against Lagos and Tinubu.

They were very excited that VI Lekki Ajah would be swallowed up. I was in Abuja that time. I appealed to somebody to buy property in Ikoyi, he said the entire Lagos Island would soon be swallowed up by Ocean.

They should leave it alone and allow those who believe in its preservation, conservation and beautification work on it.

You are also a racist more than tribal bigot if you can not see the economic benefit of that road. It depends on priority. Under economic depression, we have seen people talking loans to do projects beneficial to them without any people having the audacity to question the logic of that projects.

If Lagos were to be in the North and this project is being undertaken, no IBO dead or alive can have the audacity to challenge the project.

Those tribal bigots are merely unhappy about the development of LAGOS and they talk down the state hoping to kill the drive but they're perenial failures, they're programmed to always fail and they will continue to fail until they change their bad mindset and hate against other ethnic groups and regions.

THEY only hate LAGOS. Look at ABUJA to KADUNA train system, till the project was completed, nobody complained, nobody questioned its viability but when it turned to LAGOS-IBADAN rail line, noise erupted about the construction, cost and viability. They just hate that another development happening in LAGOS means the state is widening the gap (that which the aspire to close) between LAGOS and their rots they're trying to paint nice.
Let's live them to their mystery but on no account must we listen to their noise (except if it points out true anomalies that must be fixed). We mustn't compromise on doing things right because it involve one of us. So let the good strides continue.

Without a doubt.

All these fools making noise are ignorant of the situation in that area before Tinubu. I still remember the ocean surge that was constantly flooding the area back then. It was Tinubu that turned the tide and created Eko Atlantic in the process.
That's a visionary man.
Without the barriers and Eko Atlantic, there wouldn't even be Lnadmark in the first place.

Amadu Bello Way used to be flooded and the guest houses that used to be on that road were being abandoned one at a time. I know because I used to rent some of the rooms back then when on Holiday to Nigeria.

May God continue to bless Tinubu and may God continue to bless Nigeria.

I remember a time in the late 90s when flooding from ocean waves used to go as far as Federal Palace Hotel and Adeola Odeku. Canoes could be used on Ahmadu Bello way at such times! Eko Atlantic has truly made a difference. Vi no longer experiences that type of serious flooding.

Macphenson:
There are certain questions begging for answer as regards the Lagos Calabar coastal high way, and by extension the situation of landmark and other property owners that will be affected.

First and foremost, there was an initial road design, which property owners around that area followed and observed before erecting their structures.

All of a sudden, there was a change in design. Land Mark was given a seven days notice which was later extended to 14 days. This change in design is going to cost govt more because compensations will be paid to property owners that will be affected.
secondly, there will be great loss of jobs as businesses will be destroyed. The initial design avoids these unnecessary demolitions and saves the govt billions. Jobs will also be saved, why is govt embarking on this frivolous spending and wrecking of businesses when there is a better alternative?

The cost of the project and the way it was awarded is also an issue of National concern. The project cost is at #4 Billion per kilometer. Total cost is about #16 Trillion. The entire 36 states budget is about #14 Trillion. Already about one trillion naira has been paid to HITECH.
How are they going to source the #16 Trillion Naira? Govt has given conflicting addresses on the source of funding for the project.

Why spending the #16 Trillion Naira on a new project when there are already existing roads like the east west road that is calling for serious attention which still serves the same purpose.

Why is the project starting only in Lagos? Shouldnt it be starting at different phases like Cross River and Delta state to expedite the execution?

A lot of things are not making sense about the project.

But Alex Otti is constructing a mere 6km road in Aba at the cost of 30billion that he borrowed from islamic bank which is 5billion per kilometre and you obirodents are praising the waste.
