To Igbos In The Diaspora, Answer This Question. by horsepower102: 9:01pm On May 01
My Yoruba friend and I went to America and we both worked hard. We both suffered, received insults, racism, and put in blood and sweat to become successful.

When it came to time to invest our wealth in Nigeria, my Yoruba friend went to Lagos and ogun to invest. I followed him and go to Lagos and ogun to invest.

Am I wise or am I stupid?

I have to ask this question to really understand because I am very confused.

It all depends on when you did your investment, if it was before February 2023 , then you would be forgiven, if it was after February 2023 then you obviously need a brain surgeon. Egetwhy.

Lots of igbos need help with investment advice

I once played with the idea of an economic capital of igbos until I realized that every state had one of 2 things like enyimba economic city, New owerri, Anambra AMC,etc

I appreciate your response because I haven’t seen any Yoruba from the diaspora even before the 2023 buying land in the east to build eldorado. They always go back to their own states to invest.

This reminds me of the pharmaceutical company women that carried her 20million dollars to go and invest in Ogun state. Is she foolish or smart?

If she doesn't have similar investment in the eastern states then she needs urgent help . Checking her website shows she has offices in liberia, Sierra Leone and in the east, so she is obviously very safe with good risk analysis and management

I am really hoping that Enyimba economic city becomes that place because it’s the best planned out of all the projects I have seen so far. Last I heard, they should launch 2nd quarter of this year.

Gbam because even in 1000 years, no Yoruba person will invest such amount outside of Yoruba land when it comes to Nigeria.

Ndiigbo we have serious issues to address.

Just 10 solid years of Ndiigbo redirecting their investments to Alaigbo is all that is needed.

But we have so many eze onye agwanam roaming around.

Time shall tell.

The current happenings in Nigeria is only making the Igbos wiser

Now fathers will hold the ears of their children to only and always invest in their own land IgboLand.

Indeed it seems the whole Nigeria is laughing at the Igbos now thinking they're fools for planting their seeds and hard work wherever they find themselves in Nigeria without second thoughts.

We Thank you all for making us wiser

Me and my family and my whole village held a meeting this last Christmas.

Every penny made from our travels will be brought back to Igbo man.

Our mumu don too much.

I work in Abuja and was thinking of getting my land here and starting my own building project.

Thank you Nigeria for making me wiser

I'd rather build that house in my village or inside a thick forest as long as it's in Igbo land!!

Answer to your question depend on:

1. whether you're well informed about unknown gunmen (IPOB) or not. Because, they will close down your business investment every Mondays and at the same time put you on House Arrest.

2. You should also remember that in the SE, they will not sell (their cherished ancentral) land to you if you are not a member of their family or if you're from another clan or state. So it will be very hard for you to buy land to start a business.

Like seriously the people who preach one Nigeria to us don’t apply it in practice while we invest blindly in enemy territory where they are patiently waiting for the right moments to strike.

Na even Igbos the practice one NIGERIA pass

They go-to a new town ones that town favours them they pay back the town by investing in that same town all their gains and proceeds.

The fulanis for example take out billions of dollarsfrom Alaigbo just by selling cows to us for Christmas periods, Easter, weddings and burial.

Yet you will never see one single Fulani investor or investement in Igboland.

There is no estate built by the fulanis
There is no tax paid by Fulani herders to our state coffers
There is no employment for our youths by the Fulanis.

They take all the money they make in the East back to the north.

This is not even mentioning the killings and destruction of crops.

Propaganda and lies

Multiple data from last year have shown that south east is the safest region in Nigeria despite what the news has been saying.

Also on one hand una say igbos like money too much but on the other hand una claim that they don’t want to sell you land. There is no igboman that won’t be willing to sell land if the appropriate amount was offered to him.

Finally what about non igbo parts of Nigeria, are they also refusing to sell you guys land? What about akwaibom, calabar, bayelsa, Edo. Why are you guys not buying land in those places in significant number.

There are so many yorubas in port harcourt yet majority of them are renters and never build anything on port harcourt no matter how many years they are there. Do port harcourt people also refuse to sell land?

You asked question, I tried to help with answer that your people will not want to sell land to their fellow men from same tribe. What is it with you and the whataboutism?

If you think we care about your SE land, you need to wake up from your dream.

What is the aim of this thread?

To know where igbos in the diaspora stand on the issue of investment outside Igboland.

Remember nobody abroad picks money from the streets.

Those in the diaspora worked hard for their money.

Nothing wrong trying to understand why they invest where they do after sacrificing so much to make money.

That's not true. They go to Lagos to invest. That's why every Yoruba claims to be a Lagosian.

As for the Igbos, our people tend to focus on where they will make the most profits and downplay the safety of their investments.

If the secessionists keep causing mayhem in the SE region and Igbos keep leaving our region in their numbers, you shouldn't expect anyone to invest their hard-earned money at home though.
