A gang of 7-man robbers robbed my street last week, collecting phones and other valuables from more than 10 people. I learnt they even forced the victims to transfer money to a certain untraceable account.

My question is, how did people become armed robbers? Like you resorted to doing armed robbery than any other legitimate hustle?

God knows I have been in very terrible situations but resorting to armed robbery never crossed my mind for once.

So why others?

What about so many other things you could run legally to still earn money? Why armed robbery?

There are two types of armed robbers ,does that joined by situation and does that naturally graduated from petty theft to armed robbery. I think it's not really about situation but choice

When madness, wickedness and stupidity come together.

Nothing justifies criminality and there's no point where someone should join criminal gangs to terrorise and steal from people. Those boys who hawk by the roadside have a choice of joining armed gangs to steal, but they decided to do the right thing.

just like women going to oloshoism, it all depends on your CHARACTER. some people will not rob or wh0re themselves, regardless of what happens in their lives.

It's all about life choices, some chose the easy route damning the consequences just because they see their mates surviving the consequences, so they too can, or so they think.
Using myself as example, am here bursting my brains and resources building a company that will help not just me and my immediate family, but thousands of small businesses in Africa, while my mates just dey cash out tens of thousands of dollars daily and balling in every club you can think of with people's money. I try avoid such crowd so not to lose focus.
So you see, armed robber get hand work, but the pressure young people put on themselves these days just to feel among and relevant among their peers is driving many of all ages, even as young as 15 years old into various criminal ventures.

It's alot of reasons. 1. Parents haven't prepared or provided for them properly 2. Peer pressure

A materialistic approach to life and a "I must make it by all means".


Some idiots go into such crime to feed a drug addiction but these are mostly petty armed robbers who will waylay one on the streets.

Some are sucked into this terrible life choice by gang and cultism affiliation.


But there are the rare breed of born criminals who no matter their circumstance of birth -born rich or poor, have an affinity to be hardened criminals. These are sociopaths and psychopaths who get a thrill in engaging in violent crimes.

When you have what it takes to contribute your quota to the state but you stay famished and those who have lined their pockets stealthily then take you to be lazy.
I therefore submit that if anyone does not have the papers to get employed in the private or public sector should not rob. I misfire abi?

One thing is for sure, they will eat watery beans in prison
