Opay And Gotv Are Denying Me My Subscription To Prevent Locking Of Old Rate by etonslogistics: 11:05am On May 10
Hi guys, I feel putting this NL, would help me get a solution fast.
So on the 30th of April i used opay platform to subscribe for gotv max (still N5,700 then) to lock the rate (time was 11:35pm) and by 11:40pm the decoder was reconnected all stations for the package opened for viewing..

Then on the 6th of May, i met an e-16 error, on almost all stations except TVC, OGTV. I ignored it but it continued, till i confirmed that my account was disconnected by GOTV.

So i Called GOTV/DSTV call center to complain or make enquiry, and the Customer service Rep replied me in quote " The payment platform you used in subcribing, withdrew / reversed your payment so your account was disconnected". Now note this after 6 days of full service i get disconnected, this is strange.

Anyways i called opay to also enquiry why the reversal on a payment i requested for, and opay checked and gave me this reply " Sir your payment was effected by 11:37pm on the 30th of April 2024, also it is SUCCESSFUL on our end and also that of GOTV returned SUCCESSFUL".
This i believe because that is the only reason why my decoder with account 7528151477 was reconnected in less than 2mins, and also running for 6 days.
Anyways the guys at OPAY promised to still look into it as this REVERSAL or WITHDRAWAL of payment claim by GOTV was never originated by them, neither did the money return to their account.

So i took a step further to check the "My gotv app" and 3 abnormalities:
1. Proof of subscription of N5,700 with date as 1st May 2024 ( pos-old rate lock date).
Which is totally wrong because i paid 30th of April 2024 and was reconnected still before midnight (in a bid to lock the old rate).

2. On ther app interface payment now is N7,964.

3. The supposed reversal of N5,700 is not in my OPAY wallet or GOTV wallet either.

Since then if i call OPAY they start trading blames, with GOTV or the operator claims bad network cannot hear me properly. I call DSTV they claim it was OPAY that authorised the REVERSAL.

MY opinion i think DSTV plan is to push me into the N7,200 new rate, that is why they started their on date on 1st of May.
But failing to return my money to me.
This is a company that never compensates its viewers for their own downtime/ poor services when it occurs.

Guys i need your inputs on how to handle this

Sorry, I have no solution for you. I just wanted to remind you that this is Nigeria, where everything goes.

My old price wasn't locked in during the price hike GoTV effected before this one. I contacted support and they didn't do anything about it.

Yet, there are times you don't even get to enjoy the service you paid for. There's even a particular time when channels were scrambled for five days despite having paid for my subscription. Who do one run to for help?

As for your payment that's being denied, I'll just advise you to probably call out GoTV on social media since they're not being reasonable. The payment reflected on their platform for Pete's sake and wasn't reversed to your Opay account.
