Let's prove it : using historical currency rate and inflation rate. I wonder why some Nairalander said N10 in 1985 could equal 1 million today. How did they pull such figure, one person even said that 10 naira is worth 10 million. Haba. Are we so dull and gullible with numbers?

So this is what I did:
- I checked the year said Oyedepos son was born
- And I check the data to confirm Dollar to Nigeria rate in that year

With Google search, I found out that :
1. Isaac Oyedepo was born in 1985
2. And in 1985 1$ =0.894 naira (Apparently Naira was even stronger than dollar ) wow! No wonder some rejected travelling abroad then when they had the opportunity

With this data; let's do basic maths - If 1 dollar = 0.894 naira
Then N10 naira of 1985 = (10/0.894) dollars in same yr
Therefore ....... 10 Naira of 1985 = $11.1856 dollar in 1985

Now Since we we know the dollar value, let's change it to dollar and Naira of 2024
-Using inflation rate data from wiki....... $1 of 1985 = 2.9 dollar today
So. 11.1856 dollar of 1985 = 2.9 × 11.1856 = 32.436 dollar

Now since the value of 10 Naira was $11.1856 dollar which is now $34 dollar today,
So let's change $32. 4 to Naira value, using 1 dollar = N 1500 todays rate

So Today's value of 10 naira of 1985 = 1500 x 32.4 = N 48,654

So that money is well more than our minimum wage of 30k (what was the minimum wage then?)
This is how to reason in numbers. Nigerians are known to hate fact or data.... It's same reason many Nigerians insulted Obi for always pulling out data to put issues in proper context. Not surprising they clapped for a man who insulted the integrity and value of data and statistics to politics and economics of a nation...

So, Oyedepo used 48,600 for his naming ceremony in todays value

If a poor man uses that amount for his naming ceremony, is it okay? Normal, or below expectations ? And if u think my calculation is wrong....Let's see urs

For more context

In 1985 Nigerian minimum wage was about N125 which was about $140 then

Nigeria minimum wage today is about $20 dollars

So going by the standard of 1985....... Nigerians today should be earning at least

N210,000 = 140$ × 1500

So if Sowore told u guys that minimum wage shouldn't be less than 100k most foooolish Nigerians Insulted him...cos they are ignorant
.
But data just shows that in1985 Nigerian earn at least 210,000k if we convert the mininum wage then to now
.
Infact if we take dollar inflation to account....,the value of minimum wage then in dollar of today is over N300k .,.Many will still argue with this plain data..,cos they have been conditioned all their life to be so small, poor in thinking and lacking in understanding.
.
So your country is gone and u people don't even know the extent cos u don't understand numbers, history and basic maths......

What life has God chosen for you? Are you following God's plan in your life? Or are u sure u are not following ur own plan , bias and lust? If u answer that u will be able to answer the other one.....
If u know what it takes to follow God's plan and what it takes to reject it...then u will know wot to do....

If u still have an atom of the spirit of God in you.....read the Bible verse below...and tell me what u see

1. Pro 28:28 "When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

2...... "Pro 29:12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked".

3..... Pro 28:15 "As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people."

4.....Pro 29:2 "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn"

5...... Pro 29:7 "" The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.""

6.......Pro 18:5 ""It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment""

Remember Isreal was constituted as a nation of Priest and not a Monarchy. But one day they cried to Samuel that they need a King like other nations around them. After Samuel told God...this is what God said about the king they will get.....did they listen? Will Nigeria or someone like u listen if God told you not to vote a man? Even if u see the signs

I Samuel 8

9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”

10 Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. 12 Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 16 Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle[c] and donkeys he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”

19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”

21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. 22 The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”
