Why do people always link ghanaians and Nigerians together as one homogenous group. Are Ghanaians and Nigerians really that similar. If we are that similar, why are there a lot hostility and animosity on the net towards these two countries. I specify the net because I see Nigerians and Ghanaians hanging out with each other but when u come to the net, that's when you see the hatred.

Nigeria and Ghana are the two main English speaking countries if West Africa. Both nations have their own film companies that compete in the English video market, and their two football teams compete.

This is the first time I have heard about people mistaking Ghanians for Nigerians or Nigerians for Ghanians; Any way to be real all the Ghanians I have encountered and know(including my Ghanian friends I know) are cool people. I don't have problems with ghanians but I do agree that on the net I have seen this ridiculous hostility between Nigerians and Ghanians, I don't get it or know how it started between the two but I never join in that nonsense.
However I do feel their is a rivalry between some ghanians and Nigerians when it comes to sports and entertainment, ex. Nollywood vs. Ghollywood or black stars vs. super eagles, and etc.

Before I started coming on the net, I used to think that we were cool with each other because my Nigerians friends get along. We tease each other and when it comes to soccer we both hate each other team. That's where our rivalry stop because we both enjoy each others movies and music. I wasn't expose to that hatred till I came on the web. First of, I think people that talk trah on the net are cowards. I have always said this in order for us to develop we need each other. Even developed countries are working together.

you have points I agree but where this hate started I don't know or get it, and I don't care to get it because I feel at times it is just plain dumb at times but I agree ghanians and Nigerians should work together when it comes to development, I feel their maybe ignorance in both sides but not to extreme. It's sad but what can you do.
