I had a question asked whether you can achieve 3D text without going through the hassle of learning high end programs like maya and 3Ds max, and though illustrator has a good 3d text option but its kind of limited. so allow me to show you Xara 3D maker, I will be messing around with this to show what this software is capable off. so stay tuned

You can achieve even better with Photoshop CS5, just create your text and select Reppouse from the menu bar to make it 3Dimensional.

But ℓ̊ have tried it b4 maya could not create d text like this. If Ʊ watch closely Ʊ notice dat its extrude inward from both sides Aπϑ maya cannot do that.

hmmm, ok that is quite interesting. when I get home from work I will try it out although I have 3ds max but the principle should be the same. will get back to you in two or three hours. although I believe this can also be achieved easier with corel and photohsop and illustrator easier than maya

Decided to test it out in corel draw and this is the result I got, like I said its easier to achieve with standard vector programes than with 3d modelling software

Yeah you got it. But ℓ̊ A̶̲̥̅♏ not sure if changing camera type matters, ℓ̊ think one will have to ‎​d̶̲̥̅̊Ơ̴̴̴͡ it manually by moving d extrude inward from both sides, although ℓ̊ have not tried it but it  should work

I'll be honest with you, you can learn how to use the tools in under 1-2 weeks but to be good with grafix, that is a different story my brother.

Ugo is right. You can learn the basics under 1 week or more. But it takes time and creativity to be really good.

whatever gfx software you have, go on youtube and learn from vid tutorials..another good source is psdtuts.com keep goin at it and in a months time you'll look back and laugh at your old stuff. the best way to learn is by yourself, alot of techniques will be discovered by mistake whereas with taking directions, you produce expected results without exploring other areas.
