Hello everyone. I am new to forums in general but would really love to have a male perspective. Today is my 1st day on this site and so far it has been a wealth of information, so Thank You!! I am black American female, 37,who recently decided to pursue my creative passions, while working as a social worker/researcher. I'm not a jaded American woman who has a history of being unlucky in love, but after losing the man of my dreams to cancer 2 yrs ago (we were unmarried, living together and happy for 10+ yrs) I have finally reclaimed my swagger with the host of INCREDIBLE family and friends I am fortunate to know.  I have 8 brothers and a host of amazing men(mostly gay performers and artists) that fulfill my life in other ways, and after the unconditional love I received from my ex during his time on the planet, I feel content that the passionate phase of my life is over and no other soulmate walks this earth for me. Our romance was perfect, I shared my virginity with him, and even tho there is a sad ending, I know the Angels still smile upon me. Period. 3 weeks ago I met a visiting scholar from Nigeria here in California. He was nice enough. I wasn't attracted to him, however, I'm a bit of a  sapiosexual and decided to allow some time.(I wasn't attracted to my Seamus when we first met 16 yrs ago!! )I knew I wanted us to be friends because I was curious about him, and he seemed down to earth. He began to text me quite frequently, and over the course of 3 weeks we've met for tea or a pint 3 times, perhaps  2 hrs each time. When we last spoke he said to me that he loved my skin color (something I've always struggled with) and told me that in his mind we had "rolled around together naked several times and he hoped to do this with me " Quite forward,but complimentary just the same. I have also learned that he has a 4yr old and 2yr old back home. When I asked if he was married, I sensed a lie. (Abrupt "No" when I questioned, he replied that I have ghosts in my head! When I spoke to someone at the university regarding him,she confirmed that he had gotten married at one point in the past 10 yrs. Today he told me that he is "not married and never has been in the traditional sence" and added something about marriage being more about joining families. Weird. Does this mean he's divorced but still acknowledges the mother of his children in some legal way, or something else?
The honest truth is I'm very curious. I assume a long term relationship is out of the question simply because he loves his country will be going home in 18 months. I used to be EXTREMELY sexual person, and would love to share that with a nice man, but not one that is cheating on his wife. Yes American women can sometimes air to the slutty and surreal sometimes but that's NOT me. I also find it odd that his children are so young but he doesn't talk about them the way I would expect. No bragging or swooning, no pictures in his wallet. please advise.

Op I don't hate Nigerian women. I slightly hate the ugly ones alone. . Btw what does it matter since I'm not really into them. . I ever decided to date or marry a black woman I think East African girls are cool.
