In Nigeria, it's called "flashing".

Some other countries call it "beeping"

In francophone countries it is called "bipage".

In ethiopia, it is called "miskin" or "pitiful call".

In sudan, it is called (rather simply) "missed call".

Are there any other slangs I am missing out on here? Either way, trust capitalism to figure out a way to make money off of it. Currently, from what I just read (reuters), networks are being swamped by "1 second calls" and this is placing a burden on their respective systems.

Lesson? Do it less or very soon, even a 1-second call will cost you some money tongue
