Hi,

I am an avid follower of your posts and appreciate your advice on auto issues. I have a 1996 Opel Omega (2.0 Ecotec Engine, European Spec, 5 speed Manual, RWD) which has been giving me a number of issues.

1. Car does not idle smoothly ( was informed it is an air valve issue)

2. Car offs when engine gets hot

3. Car will not start until it is cool.

I have been informed that it is due to the coil. Please how accurate is this analysis

I will appreciate ur input on this.

Hi,I use an opel omega b 1995 n had dsame issues.other mechanics tot it was coil.thr coil dnt fail like dat.now thr is a sensor I tink d crank shaft sensor,it runs 4rm d bottom of d engine. 2d top conectd 2 d airflow area.I found out mine was faulty n wen I changed all was ok.but I wud advise u change ur top cos a new top comes wit d sensor at a 30-35k cost.itz been six months nw n am njoyn ma ride....u cnt beat ma handlin of ma opel I take curve at speeds of 120,fuel consumptn is great almost dsame as our 2002 corolla ofcos d trunk u cnt compare.they are great cars our mechanics dnt knw anytn all de knw is toyota n yet mess dem up!!!!! opel omega was my first car. I suffered but d car still served.

1. Remove d fuel supply hose when d engine is on and c if d fuel supply is fast.

If d supply is weak , d fuel pump is back

2. Another critical problem with opel omega is d air flow meter, its difficult to set. Some 6 years ago, I was traveling to Benin, d air flow meter started giving problem.

3. Once u rectify it, put ur car for sale cos OMEGA surely sucks money.

Buy an Opel Vectra

That is d most likely problem.
