A friend of mine just got himself a wheel, he has never driven before and he intends travelling with the car to his home-town for the festivities meanwhile he has only taken a day session of learning. am kinda sceptical about the idea cuz i think its so much a risk to take. do you guyz think he can pull it off?

Nigerian highway is not a place to learn driving.
Please advice him to get a professional driver to drive him home
His safety and life should be paramount in his mind

Anything is possible. In reality however, he will probably kill himself, and perhaps some other innocent people on the highway.

Extremely risky. One-day driving lesson and traveling? Abeg no try am. A friend that learned driving for couple of weeks and attempted driving from Akure to Kwara ended up in the bush. Thank God he survived.

I personally have a phobia for travelling. I did not drive intercity until after 6 months of active Intracity driving. My first intercity was from Offa-Ilorin(both in Kwara state), a 45 minutes drive. My longest driving to date is 4 hours Lagos-Kwara.

Pls engage a driver to drive you for your travel; one day driving lesson is just not enough to travel, don't try it.

Lol at the bolded! So true. Asides, dodging potholes- lots of them at that, you have other maniac drivers- some sleeping drivers even , too much of a risk to take!
Nuff said about getting a good driver for the trip- geez, it's the right thing to do!

@mustspin: I am sure your guy wants to spin his life away dis season. Or beta still go for a mental checkup. Only 1 lesson and he wants to proceed to the highways, u must be joking? I have 3 options for him to stay alive

1. See a psychiatric doctor.
2. Employ a driver.
3. Forget about travelling.

#truetalk but it hurts.

Thanks.

Have a wonderful Christmas.

Could you let us know where and when he will be travelling, so we can avoid.

If he has enough sense to put money together to buy a ride then he has enough sense to hire a driver or beg a brother or friend to drive him home.
