I'm seriously of the opinion that there should be some serious reprisals for toay's Christmas day bombings in Northern Nigeria -I mean something of the scale of the famous Zango-Kattaf stuff.
Does anyone feel the same way here?

Bombing a place of worship filled with innocent worshippers is the height of intolerance and impunity by any group. I personally feel some things shouldn't be taken lightly no matter one's religious believes.

I read somewhere an analysis on the net that the Boko boys know that they cannot fight the Government successfully (no terrorist has ever toppled a government) so their aim is to ignite a sectarian war in Nigeria.

From the opinions I am getting in the streets, one more blast and things will be tough, really tough. One way to save the situation is if Northern Muslim leaders come out strong in the next few days and condemn in strong terms this madness and work with the Government to get to the root of this, I fear for the consequences. This is no Iraq or Pakistan where innocent people will die and everything is normal. Nigerian are fast developing deaf ears to turning the other cheek.

However, having said that, any reaction from Christians will be playing into the hands of these guys. Restraint is key. this is not the time to lose our heads but to hold those who should handle it to account and make sure the victims get justice. Any reprisal action will most likely hurt innocent people.

SO PLEASE, NO REPRISALS. It will serve no use. cry

Anyone who advocates reprisal attacks is a m0r0n and is no better than the Boko Haram scum.

You religious fanatics should go and get your own country, or move to Somalia if you want to fight. Stop fûcking up Nigeria, sensible people are trying to live and work here.

boko haram bombed the police headquarters, united nations building and now a catholic church filled with worshippers. they are being emboldened daily by government's seeming lack of ideas to tackle this menace or outright politization of the whole problem. Should people maintain silence and keep turning the other cheek until innocentl children are bombed out of schools or well meaming people can no longer move freely on the streets? A lot of sponsors of boko haram are among the northern elite, emirs & traditional rulers. When there are no reprisals, they usually don't see the need to call their erring subjects to order, this has been proved severally in the past.
