why no try to find her on FB that way you can actually talk and let her know that one of your friends happens to attend the same school as she does and he gave you her number. Then ask if it's ok for you to use the number.

or have your friend remind her of who you are and have him put in a good word for you that way you can find out through this friend if she would appreciate a call from you

Well OP is actually correct with the term( "jerk"wink he used.
"JERK" is used as a slang for a naïve,foolish or inconsequential person. So as regards this issue,its not out of place to address him with that term. Op you know you are a "jerk" why do you need people to sing it like a song for you?

It's obvious you're quite nervous about the whole thing.But i've got news for you,the gurl in question might have also been nursing a crush on you also.Man up and make use of the mobile number you have and throw away the fears and doubts you're having.You have an edge here man,you went to thesame secondary school with her,what this means is she won't scold you but would be happy to hear from an old school mate (except of course you were a jerk in secondary school).

You no serious.  People have given you pointers on what to do and i did give you a suggestion (Get a pair of glasses).  And i don't mean pertaining to your usage of Jerk (seems you people need to be fed with spoon and bib before you can understand something simple).  Go through the various posts and pick out the suggestions.  You either don't have the courage to follow through (in this case find someone else and stop lamenting) or you did this as a gag.

This is a person wt a genuine problem seeking for advice on NL,not d many cooked up tales that has bn rampant on dis section,people shd @least encourage his presence by not insulting him.Ironic that if it were d cooked up,childish tales,d place wud av bn flooded wt all manner of suggestions.
@op,its always important wen making ur first move to av physical presence,calling her on d fone,wen she doesn't evn av ur numb to know who is calling is a definite no.Facebook cud b an alternative option,but try to av a face to face contact wt her,wt it u cud sense a lot frm her body language& responses to ur conversation.Gudluck

If u tell me marriage i would be tempted to believe this assertion of urs, in today's modern world every tom, Joystick and harry is in one relationship or the other, that is why we still have heart broken people in marriages and casual relationships , it has nothing to with age.

@OP Courage is definitely not the absence of fear, there comes a time in life when u pick courage to face your fear, else it would haunt u for a very long time. i would not advice you to call her over the phone because you now have her number, i would say walk up to her someday and in a friendly manner, after saying hello to her, call her number right in front of her, when it rings, tell her you are the one calling her, explain to her that, the fear of approaching her previously made u get her number, but u decided to man up to give her the call in her presence. 95% of the time, she would smile and u can take it from there.
