Pastor Tunde Bakare Versus Matthew 5v44,20? Really? by Image123(m): 2:51pm On Jan 13, 2012
I don't spite Bakare, just like i don't spite the other pastors, G.Os and MOGs. But for years, i look at Bakare and look at the scriptures, and i'm continuously like "can't he see this?" OR "am i the only one seeing this?"
Compare his utterances, for instance, in the last few days of civil protests, in the light of the scripture passage below, are his utterances defensible?

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; " (Matthew 5:44).

My question is 'are pastor Tunde Bakare's utterances against government and presidents(present and past) in line with the passage, or do they disobey this passage?

Can't really quote him verbatim. But among other things i've heard him say things like Jonathan would not sleep well. Maybe he's said worse but i recall that, and expect him as a bible student to show more maturity in his approach and criticisms. Even some so called unbelievers are protesting without inciting, swearing or cursing.

It seems many of our resident 'pastor/mOG critics' are ignoring this like a plague, their hero's been touched.

At least Tunde Bakare is siding with the masses though one can't say he is poor and unable to afford their prices for new products, but what need is it to jack up the prices and embezzle the proceeds? MLK didn't wait for the other black Pastors to act before he did in the 60s did he?

His utterances are against scriptures . We don't attack rulers as Christians .

Exodus 22:28
Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.

1 Peter 2:17
. . . Fear God. Honour the king.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

And what has this got to do with the thread? Can you concentrate?

Yes, it is true we don't curse or use ungodly words against anyone not even when we are believers. I do not support that because it unlike Christ. However, to see evils and keep quiet is evil itself. Bakare might have done it now or in the past out of emotions, personal issues unknown to us or out of one thing or the other, I don't dispute that but I will not support him in using those words anyway cos i see from the light of the word of God. He should have done it in a better or more mature manner.

You see my brother, we the young Christians must be very careful of our leaders and don't support them even when they are wrong. This is one of the problem today in body of Christ. People come to this forum and defend their leaders even when these leaders are wrong from the clear word of God. Imagine a man of God make tithe compulsory for members of the church, declaring that no wedding will be conducted for non tithe payers because they are robbers, robbing God and his members come here to say this man of God is right, all in the name of touch not my anointed. Imagine a man of God slap someone in act of deliverance and his members come here to defend him. This is one issue we the young Christians should be careful about. So if your leader tells you to commit sin against God, such member can go ahead to commit sin just because a man of God cannot be wrong? Such members of these men of God even throw curses, threatens other posters on this forum with unimaginable curses such examples as seen being used by their leaders. I understand people take matters personal and hence, use ungodly words against some MOG but I will rather wish the God of such MOG fight for them than the members of these MOG misbehave on NL. These and many more are evils I have seen under heaven among Christians. I have many issues i carry as burden in my heart for present day Christianity but I will always wait for time to explode. Thank you my brethren in the Lord.

If Pastor Tunde Bakares' utterances were to insult and scorn our leaders, then i think he should read this:

1Ti 2:1  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

but its his decision to make and i think he must have his reasons to utter such against our leaders and we may need to hear him out!!!

What about John the Baptist who openly confronted Herod for marrying his brother's wife? I agree that the bible enjoins us to pray for our rulers and those in authority but dont we also have the authority to stand against unrighteousness from those in power? Did not prophet Nathan stand up to David? Didnt Elijah stand up to King Ahab and his wife?

Yes, you are a student of the bible. The bible is balance my brother. You can stand against corrupt leaders without cursing, using cursy words etc or probably adding emotions as if you are already waiting for people's downfall or mistake so you can strike them. I hope you understand? Evil does not begat good as you cannot correct or address wrong doings in a wrong way, I think this is what we are talking about. I love Bakare because he speaks the truth against all this corrupt politicians but sometimes I feel his approach is wrong. I stand to be corrected if my view is wrong anyway but only from the light of the word of God.
