i just want to ask everybody does it, like everyone here design website and the bottom of it you put WEBSITE DESIGN BY : so so so OR WEBSITE CRAFTED BY sososos i want to know because i'm curious who started it first ! is it the white or the black Designers. even now adays when you design a clean flyer you see graphix by : 080XXXXXXXXXX So just asking who stated first |

i wuld'nt want to bring race into this but the internet/web design was started by white folks not black. on the other hand, its common sense. its more like a how do i get NOTICED question. If i was to design a free banner for nairaland, i'lld like people to know it was done by me atleast the banner is free. u know? as for me oh. when i design sites the'designed by' stuff is negotiated on. If the client wants it off, they pay for it to stay off. if they don't care, it stays there. Some companies don't allow it though. so i think its just personality |

People use is as a signature to get credit for their work. I noticed some companies don't allow it on their site. |

White designers started first! Later become multi-cultural designers everywhere---no one owns internet!!! @adeniyi83 Yes it is true---some companies will not accept your own signatures for credited work once you become their contractor/subcontractor until the contract expired. All your design/development project, scripting, images, etc. belongs to contractor's property under contract agreement- - -not yours. I had experienced dealing with contractors who chose me offering higher hourly wage on the short-term project. |

Sure some companies don't want that and companies like that wouldn't mind paying you to knock them off just as some will still insist you don't even disclose you did anything for them. You will be surprised at how much you can effortlessly make by removing a one line link. |
