The whole world.

What does it matter if he loses his soul.

Hell itself is contradictory. The bible says that people in hell will be punished for all eternity. . . and later says that hell will be destroyed.

Apparently when the soul is lost, he won't be around to enjoy his world. because the soul makes up our presence, so i have no answer to that one.

why would losing his soul keep him from enjoying the world?

because aparently the body is dust without a soul, dont u think?

Of course, i'm pretending for now that people have souls to begin with.

because when we die our soul leaves the body that we each posses, and with nothing to sustain the body, it decomposes and returns to the original dust that it was made of

Good question, this is so because apparently the average life expectancy of humans, is in the mid 70s.

This is really interesting, No profit my dear, its really sadled wen u see what the world as turn tooo, just take a look at this how many people on this forum listen to messages or gosple music, they all wants to listen to worldy music, how many nairalander contribute to religion thread we all wants to have fun by going to Sexuality, romance and so on,

this are all worldy things to be realistic, we all say the holyness is from the heart, God doesnt look at the kind of wear we put on, it all matters, cause our body is the Temple of the holy spirit. how will it profit us to buy cars, put on expensive and nacked waers we call cloths, go to hotel and ve fun, going to parties, smoking, drinking stealing just because of the things of the world just because of some years enjoymeny, then lost our life.

at time i keep wondering my self if am going to make heaven, few minutes i just confess my sin, then the next minutes u see me furnicating.

May God help us and give us the real Salvation to make heaven.

I listen to music, while driving. Is it a sin?

if a man makes wealth and loses his soul, his family will help him enjoy the money; atleast the family will be very comfortable, and they will pray for the man to make heaven. It's just like ABACHA's issue, he made and acquired enough wealth and lost his soul at the end of the day but his family are still swimming in millions and billions of Naira. But how many christians in Nigeria give a meaning to to "what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his own soul ??" Even Pastors are working around the clock using all sort of avenues to acquire worldly wealth; or has Pastor Chris not gotten nearly the whole money in Nigeria?? Does he ever think of loosing his soul?? Please make the money, if you are not there to enjoy it your family members will.

When i read this i thought that it could mean. We go around trying to get all the things that the world we live in (society) deems valuable, cars, women, money, power, dominance ect. There is no way (at least that i can think) that we can obtain these things and truly be a follower, or saved or however you want to call it. So although these things may make us feel good, is it worth the price of us losing our soul (morality, ethics, relationship with God ect). So what does it profit a man to Gain the world and lose his soul. There is no profit because as you were doing what you had to do to get everything that the world has distinguished as valuable you were losing and forgetting about everything that the Lord has deemed as valuable. Just my interperation and i am not tryign to come off holier than anyone, im an, arrogant drunkard foolish habitual sinner but anyone can try to change

Point of correction,i don't shout blood of Jesus because His blood has already been shared for me.But one thing i want to tell you is that it is natural for fear to come when you want to die except you are not human,but think,you have the best cars,houses,everything good thing you ever think of in this life and then when you die you leave everything behind.Eccl 6:12 says"for who knoweth what is good for man in this life,all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow?please read.And also Eccl11:8"But if a man live many years,and rejoice in them all;yet let him remember the days of darkness;for they shall be many,all that cometh is vanity.So please my friend the ending of anything is better than the beginning.gain your life and lose the whole world.thanks

this is an analogy i believe to the fact that how a person gains the wealth corrupts himself in the pursuit of riches. the price is too high, and the reward is never enough

The world is up for grabs,no god can stop you

This guy is obviously dissatisfied with something. He seems at a loss of his soul+x

Basically what this means,

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

You cant gain happiness by possessions or money or sex. Every celebrity has proven this. Without God we have nothing.
When we get to caught up in the things of this world, and dont have God, life is meaningless. We lose sight of what is important, and we are no longer truly happy.
When we say to God, i give my life to you, your in control, everything i have youve given to me anyways, if you take it away its fine. We are "Losing our life" for Gods sake, and in return God blesses us, giving us a great life. Losing your life, just so your can find it.
And the guestion about Hell contradicting itself, its not a contradiction.
When God comes back, which is hopefully soon, hes gonna judge the earth. The people that beleive in him will be raptured (Taken up to heaven) Everyone else will stay on the earth and it will be chaos. But God will give everyone a second chance. So when he destroys the earth 5 years later, he'll take back to heaven the ones that believe in him, and the ones who dont, will go to hell.
He'll then create a new heaven, a new earth, and a new hell known as The River of Fire, that will be even worst.
You cant just take peices of the bible, you have to read the whole thing.

You'll then need to read the bible especially the new testament to help you understand how you should conduct yourself as a christian. Join a good bible believing church. Jesus cannot save your soul. That is your job. That is the job of each individual. How soul saving is done is up for debate,though, but definitely not through submission to the dogma of organized religions like christianity.

Shut up there! Do you know the gospel of Jesus yourself? The only gospels your eyes have ever been opened to are the ones created by the roman catholic church for sheeples like you. So don't talk to me about opening eyes to some Jesus gospel. What do you know about gospels? I know more about Jesus' gospels than you have ever learnt from the church that has been deceiving you and people like you for centuries.

Salvation is only for the brave and the mature, and not for people who need crutches like you and your fellow christians. Jesus was just there to show the way, to point to the way to salvation, and not to lead you there. Jesus work is only 5%, the rest 95% task is yours and no other. Do you think salvation is a gravy train where you just have to belong to the right religious clique, read a book and sing praises to an image of a whiteman created for you by the white race and you are home and dry? Keep deceiving yourself.

You better start to pray for yourself so that your eyes might finally be opened to the deceit you and your fellow christian brethren have been put under.

No amount of philosophy can save a man's soul but Jesus and Jesus alone. you can choose Christ today and when you die you will enter into eternity. if this were not the truth you would have little to lose, if however it turns out to be the truth you'll have eternity to regret why you didn't believe within the few decades that man has to live on earth!

When interpreting scriptures, its not always literal as many assume.

You will wonder what the poster is really after, whatever; the meaning of that verse is just to let Man realize that you are more than what you are seeing.

You are not just that tangible body that you move around; you are far more than that.

Every man is made up of SPIRIT, SOUL and BODY.

At the fall of man, every thing called human being became corrupted; the Man you see; I mean every human being is so loaded and has the capacity to produce all you call the world today. The invention center is the soul, but without it being submitted to the will of its creator, despite the enormity of its power, sorrow is always the outcome as seen in the world today.

When the authority of man is returned back to God; its creator, then the beauty of that being called man can only be seen at his/her best.

When a man returns to his/her maker at the point of new birth, what we call being born again today; a cleansing takes place, the oil of God's glory comes upon the man; then you realize the true capacity of man.

It takes even born again christian to realize this, to function at this level.

The true value of man is seen when the oil of God; which we call ANOINTING flows out of man, but that can only happen when God has done the washing, "of the water by the word".

After all you dont use oil until you have washed even in the natural.

So without this submission to God which was the basis of that scripture; you may gain the whole world, but you have lost so much even here on earth; not to talk of what happens in eternity with God in heaven.
