Heres a start.
This is the Nigerian Flag created to mark our 47th Independence day - Oct 1st 2007
Video of the complete animation featuring the National anthem is also on youtube at: http://youtube.com/watch?v=VHg4jJNpC4c
and the larger original version of the image can be found on my website - see url on the image.
I use Autodesk 3dsmax, Photoshop CS2 mainly, amongst other graphics related software.
Peace.

The following are screen grabs from an animated music video.

I used Modo for modeling, Body Paint and Photoshop for textures, Softimage XSI for animation and Lightwave for rendering.

Diversity diversity diversity! Lafem, your style is what I call ''Waterfall''. . . 'cause it flows just like that. I see a Disney and Don Bluth influence right there. Very tight, man. . . and hahahahahahahahahahaha! Those characters are hilarious. . . I just can't help but picture them in action. . . ''Yaparipaaaa!!!". . . Ibadan's finest is friggin hilarious. . . Imagine these guys speking pidgin. . . " I go cotu yua head riam tam tam!!" grin grin
Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by Lafem(m): 3:28am On Oct 23, 2007
Thanx Graphikdon. Your observation about my style and its influences is spot-on. Styles vary from artist to artist and can be blended as needed. Mine's a hybrid of the rich "Golden Age" styles of Disney, Warner Bros., and the Fleischer brothers studios, all combined with my own innate style. As you already know, a [cartoon] animator is an actor [with a pencil or computer] as well as an entertainer whose primary objective [and challenge] should be to arrest/captivate his audience's attention via his character(s)' ability to successfully [and clearly] deliver or convey a story/message.

As an artist/cartoonist/animator, I strive to incorporate humour into the very 'soul' of a lot of my characters [especially with respect to their body proportions, posture, and demeanor; all these are essential to establishing a character's personality], as I've found humour to be a most effective tool in helping to sustain one's audience's attention without compromising the essense of the story. That you find my characters captivating enoff to conjure animated images in your mind is most gratifying to know smiley, and tells me that I achieved my aim. Once again, Merci!

Keep 'em coming fellas.

@ Geemus,you have to grab something like photoshop and start practicing. Scout the net for free tutorials and join Photoshop discussion forums. In addition to photoshop, there abound a multitude of 3D applications that will be valuable to your computer graphics 'arsenal'.

Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by zPixel(m): 7:00pm On Oct 28, 2007
@grafikdon
I can see you like weapons. Nice models you've got. I've noticed that we hardly see lightwave users on this forum what's going on?

I know most of you have seen i-robot (the movie). i liked it so i modeled it a longtime ago, but i was scared of rendering then because i lacked the skills. Anyways, i prayed to the god of renderers and he visited me yesterday grin . Hope you like it.

It was modeled in Maya and exported to 3dsmax for rendering with v-ray and post was done in photoshop.

please crit & comments are welcome.

Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by iparrot(m): 5:47pm On Nov 01, 2007
great model but i think there are slight inconsistencies in the reflection of the body, espercially the back of the car. it kind of breaks between the windscreen and the bonnet too. but it might have been your intent. also check out seriouswheels.com you will be able to find that audi concept car there and a whole lots more so you can finish your model if you want to.
by the way, i use lightwave also, so grafikdon is not the only one!! grin
Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by zPixel(m): 6:37pm On Nov 01, 2007
@iparrot
Thanks alot for the c&c. Actually i agree with you about the reflection, the problem is from the modeling, that was because i didn't model with enough reference. For my new car project, i plan to grab enough reference from www.seriouswheels.com.

Nice to know grafikdon is not the only lightwaver here. smiley

Does anyone know where i can get actually blueprint of cars online?
