I'd a similar xprience wt a PHCN staff who removed my cables cos I didnt 'contract' my meter processing to her, even after seein evidence dat it was being processed. I'd gone on to process it myself after she asked for 8k processing fee for a meter of 25k. I wrote a leta of complaint to the district service mgr, copied d branch mgr, zonal mgr, ICPC & EFCC. Dat same day, som guys came frm her zone to fix it back. D next mornin, anoda set of guys came frm d district to fix d cables.
Yet, my neighbour who had paid d 8k is yet to get his meter while I got my prepaid 2 months ago.
Since then, she doesnt come to my close whenever she comes to disconnect debtors.
Yes. STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHT!!

I had the same awful experience this week at gt bank.I had just opened a domicillary account with the branch at alausa. My refrence form was filled by skye bank current holders. Two days later, i got a text that the dom account had beeen created and required that i activated by paying in dollars into the account. I got 500 dolls from my aboki and deposited immediately. Two weeks later i made a foreign transfer. Two hours later, i got a call from gt bank that my transaction was on hold because the status of the refrees had not been confirmed by skye bank. That day, i rushed back to the banking hall, tried to make them explain why an account that was yet verified was activated. My god, you guys should have seen their attitude. They simply cared less, insisting skye bank was responsible. They even insisted i couldnt terminate the transaction as it wasstill on hold. Immediately, i dashed to my refrees and headed towards V.I (skye bank hq) on a bike. On my way, i had an awful experience that nearly got me killed. The okada rider tried to avoid task force on the highway, a task force personnel threw a punch at the bike rider who was riding at full speed. The agbero missed the okada man, guess who he got, me, in the jaw. As i type, i have a dislocated jaw ( just got x-rayed)
Can u believe that the refrence form never got to skye bank. I had to get my refrence form to skye bank myself, there the skye bank staffs expressed disbelief in the manner at which gt bank operated. I think the bank is eating more than it can chew.
Once i get the transaction done, i am closing the account right away, SHARPALLY!!!!, SHARPALLY!!!, except offcourse, i get this HOT CHICK wink at the customer service as my VAL. IF NOT angry, hmmm, I am only trying to make the best out of the situation grin grin.

I operate an E susu account with stanbic IBTC. It is a daily savings account and the agents come around to collect it daily. I was faithfully saving for 3mnths without making any withdrawal.  I later went into the bank to demand for my statement of account but I was told I had no statement that they only know the total amount I av saved and that if I nid my statement I should use the handwritten passbook as my statement. I told them nobody would accept that from me and that it was improper for me to save over a million with them without proper statement. That was when this guy who happened to be the operations manager shouted me down that as long as my money is complete I had no right to complain. The other staff were telling him that I am a regular customer but he didn't bother. He later called a police officer to come and walk me out but other customers intervened. I went straight to my lawyer and we called the customer complaint threatening fire and brimstone. Promptly they apologised and asked for scanned copy of my passbook which they used to provide me my statement from the headquarters. They gave the guy query and made him face a disciplinary panel cos as at the time he used police to walk me out, I had more than a million in that account. This guy called me yesterday saying unless I intervene he will be sacked. He is asking me to tell them at the headquarters that I was angry from home before and that I transferred the aggression on him before he reacted that way. He actually begged me and was almost weeping on phone.

Do not forgive the clown he deserves to be sacked. There are more deserving people on the employment queue to take his place.

Nothing happened to forgiveness, but it is only possible when there is genuine repentance. The guy is only apologising because he doesn't want to lose his job not because he is sorry. Why did he have to be served a query and threatened with sack before calling to apologize? Worse still his arrogance made it obvious the kind of person he is, the guy's scanned passbook was used to issue his statement in no time meaning it was a simple process, a person who makes simple things too difficult is a saboteur. Sorry no forgiveness without GENUINE repentance, that's the way of the prudent.

helpee, just 4give the mumu may be he was feeling like a worldbank manager

4geting he is in a nija coming to its best. He will only increase unemployment

population out there
, i think by now he will be beggen & promissing God

"If u save me I will never try that in my life" again & again & again,

The bolded part is what caught my attention. When he is sacked someone more deserving of the position will take his place so there will be no increase in unemployment, an unemployed person will somehow be hired.

If the aggrieved customer goes ahead to forgive him however let's hope next time he will use his brains when dealing with customers. Who does he think he is?

I love what this guy did. The same happened to me about 2 years ago in the same bank. Just exactly my story. But instead of mastercard, it was visa card. I have been using mastercard with them upto 2010, all of a sudden, they opened new visacard for me, transfered all my balance on mastercard to visacard, deducted about 8,000 naira from my c. Account changed it to dollar at their own exchange rate to cover the price of 50 dollars visacard issue charges, sending messages that i should go and collect both visa and mastercard in their branches just like this one. I also complained but to no avail. Thsank God for the step this guy took. Its high time we challenge their robbery activities. I have to live with it like that then. My visa expired january this year, but before that, i withdrew all my dollars from dom, and just put 2k in current a. To avoid autorenewal. Why all this stealing? Someone needs to call them to order. na bai force?

@helpee, i like your story. Tell him you have forgiven him, but you cant lie that you were angry at home and u transferred agression at him, and that was why he acted that way towards you. Oh my God, such arrogance sucks, even at that his state of pleas for mercy! Whatever becomes his fate isnt your business, you have forgiven him!

Sometime before christmas I was First Bank Ajah market branch for a transaction I heard a female staff of the bank explaining to a woman who has come to complain that her money was withdrawn by unknown persons through the ATM when she had her card with her. The female staff was telling the woman tha it was impossible that maybe someone from her end(the compliant) did the withdrawal and if she wants to make an official compliant she should fill a form and the CCTV recording would be retrived from the archives upon the payment of N25,000. whereas the woman was complaining of a loss of N18,000.
very funny, please, can yu inquire the name of the 1st bank staff?
its so unheard of, so funny,

i BEG TO DISAGREE, the camera embedded in de ATM is for security purposes and no one can ask yu to pay money to retrieve a data i can even retrieve from uyo here cos yu can access almost all de resources from anywhere.

let me xplain how this works--all the images of anyone that makes use of the ATM in a central server can be accessed if need be(just as this case).

prove me wrong, can yu get the customers name?
do u know the staff in question? get her name, even her first name and post here and i will ask questions,

please, lets watch wat we post.

I remember the case of my MTN's Magic Number issue. It was like 250 or 350 to use d service then, I loaded 2 200 card prior to the registration. The friend I intended to invite mistakenly rejected the request. I called MTN customer care d first time, dey said It's not possible bt I shld called back 12hrs, the next guy said I didn't ave airtime on my phone but I shld back next 24hrs, on calling the third lady I became very angry but she explained to me that I was right but there nofin she can do about it.

This is nonsense. That she was asked to pay simply means the bank employee in question was corrupt.
Re: GTBank Tries To Force Dollar Mastercard On A Customer by SoftVersion(m): 12:13pm On Feb 10, 2012
I became more furious now, I told that lady that I'm a Computer Science student and I lil abt this network of a thing, there's an error in the software configuration of the service, I explained many things to her, and that I can't be held responsible for that. I threatened to hack their system down or file a lawsuit against them, and that I recorded all conversation with d customer care. The lady had to call back and transfer d credit back and called several times in that week apologizing on behalf of MTN.

An adage says.he that has a head has no cap and he that has no head has a cap. The guy should count himself lucky, because a lot of customers are looking for dollar account without success and he that have the opportunity of having one on a platter of gold, turn it down. what an irony of life.

for GTB, they hav been extorting money out of unsuspecting customers through the introduction of their fake pin-pads. dont ever use pin pad for any transaction: they collect N100 per transaction if u use pin pad machine

The "Pin pads" makes your bank account more secure cos the random number generated is authenticated with the server everytime you do an online transaction but charging for it is a rip off.

Re: GTBank Tries To Force Dollar Mastercard On A Customer by denzel2009: 7:47pm On Feb 10, 2012
biolabee:

what is this pinpad please

It's actually called a security token. Anytime you want to access your online account you have to input your pin and it generates some random numbers for you to gain a secured access to your account. If they hack your bank account without the token, they would just be licking their lips cos they wouldn't be able to authorize any transaction.
Re: GTBank Tries To Force Dollar Mastercard On A Customer by Nobody: 10:10pm On Feb 10, 2012
GTB are scam, Some months ago I met them to issue a dollar master card 4 me but only to trickishly issue me a naira mastercard. imagine I obtain a token along with their master card for 3k so I can purchase stuff securely on the internet. Do you know no site accepted their card. I complain to their half baked customer care (don't know if they even pass high school from their conduct, so rude and unconcern) only for those cheap criminals to tell me I should come get a dollar card for $50. What happened to all the money I spent on the naira card, all wasted. First bank rules.
