I feel uncomfortable and embrrassed when I board buses travelling especially to the east and see bus evangelists collect offering after preaching.Do you think it is right?

I think they are just hungry. U won't believe one who actually challenged me when we got to the garage that i didn't say Amen to her prayers, i just looked at her and told her that God will have mercy on her. After the offering, she stylishly curse those who didn't help the 'work of God'

As preacher in those days in Nigeria I never receive any gift even when I was given i refused it.

Our people are very gullible.They just need miracles by whatever means.The Bus preachers usually pray for accident free journey and prophecy prosperity on the passengers and at the end they collect offering.they call it their own ministry.They hardly ever preach a good sermon on repentance all they do is to manipulate the passengers to give good offerings.Because "God loves a cheerful giver".

Thanks for this thread. I have been irritated by the practice myself. These days when someone stands to preach in my commercial bus, I feel sick. It made me look sometimes like an anti-Christ.

I feel suspcious and get justified when they ask for contribution. May God truly save us. I used to preach too in buses but never asked for money. I don't see myself doing it again as I feel very ashamed by the attitude of our fellow preachers. It is really a shame; a big let-down.

Begging has become an art for the truly creative.
These gentlemen and lady preachers asking/receiving offerings after 'preachng' have simply taken begging to another level.
Sadly people are accepting this as normal - someone offered me money during a neighbourhood house to house evangelism not too long ago, and was offended when I refused his offer.
However, because accidents occur daily is no reason 4 us to confine ourselves at home.

Offering for Inside BUS.

Sometimes u give not because u trust the person u r giving the money to,to use the money for what he/she said the money is for,but because u want to do u own part.And the God that u r giving the money to would bless u,irrespective of what the money is used for.(atleast that is what i believe.)

If some of us see what our money is being used for in some churches we would never want to give again,but just for the Love of God,let's give.

But this does not mean that what some preachers r doing by 'forcing' people to give is right,giving is not by force,dont let anyone deceive u,please.

And as for where to give,u can give at anytime at anywhere(not only in churches),u can

give on the streets,in ur offices,at weddings,charity etc,the most important is the

willingness to give.

Bus preachers collecting offering? Well. it's not just my style. I'd rather seek an opporunity to give.

i have never given and wud never do that.i want to do charity,i definitely know where to go

we all have different opinions,lets just do what we(individually) think is right(concerning giving) and dont castigate people who give or dont give.

And as for the Preachers,if they dont use the money for what they said,den leave it to God(not man).

There is absolutely nothing BAD about asking or giving offering to mobile/bus preachers. Afterall, we do the same in the church. If you believe in the preacher, you can contribute to his ministry. many lives have been blessed and saved by that act of giving. people complaining here are the same set of people that will complain if asked to contribute even in the church. It is a spiritual injunction:give and it shall be given until you.

Yes there is nothing bad in giving. However, we must develop a sharp decerning spirit to know who is who. Watchout that you don't fall into the temptation. Not all that call me Lord! Lord! will enter the Kingdom of God.

Be careful that you don't sow your seed where you promote the Kingdom of Devil.

There true evangelists when you see them God Ministers to your heart to sow your Seed but for those who have the permanent offering bag?

I am disappointed by those who see nothing wrong in bus preachers collecting offering. Have we become so spiritual that we can no longer draw the line between illegality and spirituality? How on earth can someone asking people to accept Christ solicit money from those who have not accepted the gospel? The way it is going, very soon, people will make a career out of this tax-free venture called bus evangelism.

If you must preach in a bus, you should only appeal to people to accept Christ. Conducting deliverance or anything else there is out of place. Many of these people just laugh off the gospel, dismissing the preachers only as after their money and not souls. How more commercialised can the gospel be? I am almost weeping. This is why this country is where it is. People making money from preaching in buses. It is so
sad and disheartening.

I have heard about that theory. The truth however is, it (the theory) did not cross my mind when i sent in that post.

I have gone past that level. There are some of us who give, not because we are trying to practice a theory or as though we are gambling or trading. We give because we know we have already been blessed in christ beyond measure.

So there is no question of it did not work. I am addicted to the gospel of Christ. I do not give becasue of what i hope to gain even though harvest is innevitable; giving is my nature.  I give because  i have the nature of God and God is  a giver. The whole world belongs to me. I dwell in Zion and there is no poverty there . . . Glory!

If you preach the gospel rather than give that will have been better. Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the lord.

How pleasant is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. It is good to give to the gospel but you must know that giving is to be done the right way.

There is nothing more that give your sleep to God and pray for his will to be done on earth. It is like we are buying the word of God. The muslim do the same thing.

I've seen such and I don't condemn the practice. If they need your financial aid and they politely ask you to give and you feel moved to give,good. If you choose not to give, just as well. It's a question of choice as long as they didn't employ any deception to make you give.
