75 Million Nigerians Are Very Poor In commemoration of this year's International Poverty Day, Oxfam GB, a development, relief and campaigningInternational Non-Government Organisation (INGO) inover 70 countries, dedicated to finding lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world, has disclosed that an estimated 75 million Nigerians are living in abject poverty, among which 68 million are women. Please pass this on to CENTRAL Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who said Nigeria would be among the 20 largest economies in the world by 2020. May God save the poor majority suffering and dying in abject poverty. |

Out of 140million? Not bad then. It sure dosen't show. Looks more likd 135million are poor. Oh I get it now. 75million Nigerians are "very" poor. Then the other 60 million must be "poor" then or very very very poor! Well, nothing we can do about it can we? |

Well, We have 75 million VERY POOR. I would guess we have about 20 million RICH?? So, if we can get the rich to share the wealth ( directly or indirectly), we might be able to get 50 million off the VERY POOR list to at least POOR |

I'll be glad to know how VERY POOR was determined. Before anyone jumps at me, I am not saying there is no poverty but it should be interesting to know exactly how VERY POOR was determined. |
